Studio Philosophy and Collaboration

I treat every track as a conversation. My background is rooted in the Banaras gharana and a PhD in Music from BHU, which gives me the technical foundation to handle complex Raags. However, my time in Mumbai has taught me how to balance that discipline with the speed and creativity required for commercial production. I am comfortable reading notation or improvising on the fly, depending on what the director or music producer needs.

Choosing Your Sound

When we collaborate, we can choose the right tool for the job. If you need warmth, texture, and a sense of history, we go with the acoustic sitar. If you are producing a modern dance track, fusion pop, or need an electric sound that cuts through a dense mix, I use my Zitar rig. I have spent years dialing in specific pedalboard settings—delay, reverb, and overdrive—to ensure the instrument responds correctly to the modern production environment.

The Workflow

I value your time as much as my own. For remote session work, I deliver dry and wet WAV stems within 48 to 72 hours. This setup allows you to integrate the performance into your DAW without friction. If we are recording in a Mumbai studio, I bring my own gear, including the flight cases and instruments, ready for a four-hour shift. I have worked on major projects like Bandish Bandits and film scores, so I understand the requirements of high-pressure professional environments.
