Awards and Recognition for Gardening Excellence
We don't just grow plants; we cultivate a community of passionate gardeners across Bengaluru through shared knowledge and local contests.
We were featured in a Deccan Herald article about how working from home has encouraged more people to take up gardening. It was a privilege to share our perspective on this positive green trend in Bengaluru.
This poster announced our 'Garden Contest - Bengaluru 21' for World Environment Day. We created several categories, from best balcony garden to best eco-friendly practice, to encourage and recognize all forms of home gardening.
Transparency is important in our community events. Here, we outlined the judging criteria for our garden contest, which was based on plant health, aesthetic appeal, and individual effort, with a panel of respected industry experts.
Announcing the winners of our Garden Contest was a highlight for us. We congratulate each winner for their beautiful work and for contributing to the green canopy of our city through their personal passion for gardening.
About Recognition & Community Achievements
Our annual Garden Contest was born from one observation: Bengaluru residents are putting incredible effort into their green spaces. When we saw the diverse entries—from modest balcony setups to fully transformed rooftops—we knew we had to recognize these local plant parents. By providing a platform for this passion, we hope to encourage more people to turn their own corners of the city into sustainable, thriving gardens.
Building a Greener Bengaluru
At Greening Wonders, we believe that gardening is a social act. Our commitment to the community goes beyond selling plants at our Yelahanka nursery. We aim to foster a culture where gardening is scientific, sustainable, and shared.
Deccan Herald Feature
We were honored to be featured in the Deccan Herald for our perspective on the 'working from home' gardening trend. It highlighted a shift we see daily: residents are no longer just keeping plants for decoration; they are interested in the biology behind why a plant thrives. We shared our insights on how indoor spaces can be transformed into productive, air-purifying zones using NASA-approved plant varieties.
The Garden Contest '21
We launched our Garden Contest during World Environment Day to celebrate the individual efforts of our neighbors. It was not just about the final aesthetic, but about the process.
- Judging Criteria: We invited experts from the landscaping industry to evaluate entries based on plant health, sustainability, and creative placement. Transparency was key, so we published the rubric to help participants understand the scientific approach to garden design.
- Categories: We awarded prizes across categories including Best Balcony Garden, Best Work-Desk Plants, and Best Eco-Friendly Innovative Practice. This variety helped us showcase that you do not need a large farm to be a successful gardener.
We continue to use these platforms to keep the dialogue open about plant science, pest management, and the joy of green gifting in Namma Bengaluru.
