Hand-Painted Wooden Miniature Pendants
Every pendant is a tiny wooden canvas, hand-painted with deep reverence for Indian folk traditions. Each design is a slow, intentional project that brings classic art to life for your everyday wear.
This hand-painted pendant is my tribute to Theyyam, an ancient ritual dance form from Kerala. I've used a rich palette of reds and intricate details to capture the divine energy of the performance on a small canvas.
These miniature paintings are made on a 7.5 cm wooden base. As you can see, I paint goddesses like Saraswati and Lalita, and each one takes me 10 to 15 days to complete. This is the dedication that goes into truly handmade art.
Many think painting on a small canvas is easier, but it requires immense precision and skill. This video shows the intricate brushwork needed to create the details on a miniature painting of a royal elephant.
I love how each Kamadhenu, or holy cow, that I paint has its own unique expression. These two pendants, with gold and silver bell accents, showcase the distinct personality that emerges in every handmade piece.
A hand-painted miniature of Nataraja, the dancing Shiva, captured in a moment of cosmic energy. The vibrant sunset colors in the background and the detailed posture make this a powerful piece of spiritual art.
My wearable tribute to a master. This is a miniature hand-painted replica of Van Gogh's 'Starry Night' on a wooden pendant, perfect for art lovers who want to carry a masterpiece with them.
A collection of my hand-painted Devi pendants. Each one is a unique portrayal of the goddess, painted with devotion and attention to detail on a wooden base.
About this collection
While the size might lead some to assume these are quick to produce, painting on a 7.5 cm wooden disc actually demands more patience than a standard canvas. Every intricate detail of a divine face or traditional motif is hand-applied using fine brushes, which means a single piece often takes me 10 to 15 days from start to finish. I want you to know exactly what goes into your piece so you can appreciate the slow, deliberate work behind every pendant.
My Process: From Wood to Wearable Art
I begin with a simple, high-quality wooden base. Before any colour touches the surface, I prepare it to ensure longevity. My work isn't about rushing to finish a product; it is about capturing the essence of the subject—whether that is the fierce, red-hued energy of Theyyam, the regal motifs of Tanjore art, or the delicate expressions of Maa Durga.
Why Miniature?
Painting in miniature forces me to be hyper-precise. On a tiny scale, every brush stroke matters. A single mistake can alter an expression, so I work in quiet, focused sessions. This is why I cannot offer these as 'off-the-shelf' items. Each pendant is made individually, ensuring that the piece you receive is truly one-of-a-kind.
Caring for Your Pendant
Because I use wood and traditional paints, these pieces are delicate. While I seal them with a protective varnish or resin, they aren't meant to be worn while swimming or in heavy rain. Please store them in the provided container when not in use, away from direct sunlight or heavy perfumes, to keep the colours vibrant for years to come.
Customisation
If you have a specific deity in mind, a motif from a family heirloom, or a concept you would like to see on a pendant, send me a message. I love taking on custom projects that hold personal meaning for you. Just remember to account for the 10-15 day crafting time when ordering for an event.
Greengold
I have spent the last 11 years turning my love for plants, tradition, and folk stories into wearable art. I don't believe in quick production; I believe in taking the time to get the details right, whether I am painting a temple motif or a dancing Shiva.
