Earthy Terracotta Jewellery Collections
Hand-sculpted clay, vibrant pigments, and traditional motifs come together in these terracotta sets. Each piece is molded, fired, and painted by hand to create wearable, earthy art.
I love pairing my creations with the perfect saree. This black, green, and red terracotta set was designed to match this beautiful parrot-green and pink saree, creating a complete and vibrant festive look.
This Kathakali-inspired terracotta pendant features the iconic green face paint of the heroic protagonist. It's a striking piece of wearable art, perfect for celebrating cultural festivals like Onam.
A brand new terracotta design. This necklace set features a semi-circular pendant with intricate geometric patterns in warm, earthy tones, paired with matching earrings.
A beautiful array of my terracotta creations. These pieces, with their vibrant colors and diverse designs, are perfect for adding a touch of handmade charm to any outfit.
Every year I paint a new version of Durga Maa's face, and it's always a deeply spiritual process. This year, I was so happy to create this one for myself, with a unique grey and black color scheme.
This terracotta pendant is inspired by the dramatic makeup of Theyyam performers. The bold red color and intricate details make it a vibrant statement piece, especially when paired with a traditional Kerala saree.
Here is the Theyyam-inspired terracotta pendant being worn. It sits beautifully against the simple elegance of an off-white saree, making the colors truly stand out.
About this collection
Because I sculpt, fire, and paint each set myself, these pieces have a substantial, earthy feel that differs from factory-made jewellery. I finish each item with a high-grade resin coating, which not only gives a glossy, ceramic-like sheen but also protects the delicate hand-painted details from humidity and light water exposure.
My terracotta process is intentionally slow. It starts with kneading raw clay to the right consistency, followed by molding the specific shape, and finally firing it in a kiln to ensure durability. This process gives every pendant a weight and texture that you can feel, separating it from mass-produced resin or plastic alternatives.
Artistry in Clay
I draw heavily from cultural traditions for these designs. Whether it is the intense facial makeup of a Kathakali or Theyyam performer or the serene face of Durga Maa, each miniature painting on the clay surface is an attempt to preserve these stories.
Styling & Versatility
While these sets are rooted in tradition, I design them to be versatile.
- For Ethnic Wear: The chunky, painted pendants pair beautifully with cotton sarees, kurtas, or salwar suits, especially for festivals.
- For Casual/Boho Looks: My smaller, floral or geometric sets work well with summer dresses, linen shirts, or western-fusion outfits.
Care & Durability
Since these are made from baked clay, they are sturdy but require care. The resin layer helps with longevity, but avoid dropping them on hard surfaces like concrete or tiles. To keep them looking new, store them in the reusable box I provide, away from other heavy metal jewellery that might scratch the surface. If you see a design here that is sold out, I am happy to recreate it, though please allow time for the clay to dry and bake properly.
Greengold
I am the person behind every piece you see here. I find immense joy in kneading, molding, and painting each terracotta set by hand, often drawing inspiration from traditions like Theyyam and the stories my mother told me. If you are looking for jewellery that feels as grounded as it looks, you are in the right place.
