Modern Co-Living Spaces Design

Designing for co-living requires a different approach than traditional residential work. In high-density settings like our project at Housr Nest in Koramangala, the furniture must handle constant turnover and daily heavy use. We delivered 14 fully-furnished rooms by focusing on specific material choices that reduce long-term maintenance for the property owners.

We prioritize functional layout optimization. By integrating the study desk, shelving, and storage into a single wall unit, we maximize the floor area in compact rooms. This approach prevents clutter and ensures that tenants have everything they need in a small footprint.

Key execution details for this project included:

• Material Selection: We opted for BWR grade plywood and high-pressure laminates to resist moisture and impact damage, which is essential in rental environments.
• Lighting and Electrical: We installed commercial-grade LED panels and ensured all LAN cabling was integrated directly into the workstations, keeping the rooms ready for remote working tenants immediately upon handover.
• Aesthetic Cohesion: While the focus is on utility, we introduced fabric-based headboards and warm laminate tones to prevent the rooms from feeling cold or purely functional. This creates a residential feel that attracts residents to the property.
