Behind the Scenes of a Newborn Photoshoot
Curious about how a newborn session actually happens? Here is a peek into the calm, safe, and cozy process I follow at my Ghatkopar studio.
Come behind the scenes of a natural light setup for a baby boy. This video shows the transition from the live setup to the final, beautifully edited portrait, giving you a glimpse of the magic we create.
About Behind the Magic
You will notice that I never rush the setup. The video shows a natural light flow, which means adjusting the baby and wraps with extreme care rather than forcing a specific position. I focus on creating a consistent, calm environment—temperature-controlled and sanitized—so your baby stays asleep and comfortable while we transition between poses.
A Safe, Gentle Studio Experience
Newborn photography is not just about the final image. It is about the environment we create in the studio. When you arrive at my Ghatkopar space, everything is already prepared. The room is temperature-controlled to keep your baby warm, and my wraps are sanitized to ensure complete hygiene for your little one's sensitive skin.
The 'Flow' Process
I operate on a 'flow' technique. This means we move through a sequence of poses—from the beanbag to the prop setup—with minimal disruption to your baby. If your baby needs a feed or a cuddle, we stop. We follow their cues, not the clock. My goal is to work with their natural rhythm, ensuring they stay in that deep, peaceful sleep required for those iconic, dreamy portraits.
Why the 5-15 Day Window Matters
I often recommend scheduling your session within the first two weeks of life. During this period, babies are generally sleepier and still comfortable in the fetal position, which makes those wrapped, curled-up poses much easier to achieve. If you are expecting, reaching out during your third trimester helps us lock in a tentative date around your due date.
The Final Result
Every setup you see, whether it is a neutral-toned basket or a celestial-themed prop, is designed to support the baby, not take attention away from them. The final image you see on the screen is the result of that slow, patient process—no stress, no forced smiles, just pure, quiet magic.
