Sports and Fan Memorabilia Framing
Your signed jersey or cricket bat holds a story that deserves to be on display, not stored away. I create custom shadow box frames that keep your sports memorabilia safe and visible for years.
The iconic blue of the Indian cricket jersey, framed to perfection. This piece uses a clean white wooden frame and a custom blue inner mat to complement the jersey, all protected by museum glass for a crystal-clear, reflection-free view.
Framing historic items like Surinder Amarnath's 1978 tour blazer and bat requires a focus on both presentation and preservation. I use secure T-hinging methods, not nails, so the items can be removed in their original condition if ever needed.
About Sports & Fan Memorabilia
When framing a sports jersey or bat, the biggest mistake is using adhesives that degrade the item over time. I use T-hinging and specialized mounting techniques that hold your memorabilia securely in place without any glue or nails, ensuring it stays in its original condition.
Preserving a piece of sports history is different from framing a standard photo. When you bring me a signed jersey, a cricket bat from a memorable match, or an autographed cap, my primary goal is reversible preservation.
The Science of Mounting
I never use glue, nails, or tape directly on your memorabilia. For jerseys, I use hand-stitched mounting techniques. The jersey is carefully sewn onto a backing board, which prevents sagging and keeps the fabric's integrity intact over decades. For heavier items like cricket bats or medals, I use custom-fabricated acrylic supports or wire mounts that distribute weight evenly.
Why Materials Matter
Standard glass acts like a magnifying glass for UV light, causing signatures to fade and fabrics to yellow. I use museum-grade UV-protective glass, which blocks 99% of damaging light while remaining virtually invisible. This allows you to see the details, like the weave of the fabric or the ink of a signature, without distracting reflections.
Designing Your Display
A shadow box is more than a container. I design the internal depth, typically between 1 to 2 inches, to give the object a three-dimensional presence. If we are framing a team jersey, I incorporate double matting that matches your team’s colors, creating a balanced look that does not overwhelm the item itself.
As I demonstrated with Surinder Amarnath’s 1978 tour blazer, every item has a history. Whether it is a modern jersey or a vintage collectible, I ensure the mounting is secure yet completely reversible, so the object remains as pristine as the day you brought it in.
