Custom Paper-Cut Portraits in Floating Frames
Your hand-cut portrait deserves a stage, not just a wall. I frame every piece in floating glass to catch the light and cast dreamy, 3D shadows that bring the art to life.
This is how your portrait can look in a classic black floating frame. The design allows the color of your wall to show through, making the artwork pop.
A beautiful portrait of a grandmother, perfectly preserved in a floating frame. This style of framing adds a modern and elegant touch to the hand-cut art.
This angled shot shows how the paper-cut art sits between the two glass panes. This creates a sense of depth that you can't get with a traditional frame.

Here I am holding a large, framed portrait. The wooden frame complements the traditional floral pattern I incorporated into the artwork.

About The Final Masterpiece: Framing & Display
The floating frame is the secret sauce here. Because I sandwich your hand-cut portrait between two sheets of clear glass, the artwork does not just sit flat against the wall. It actually catches the light to cast soft, layered shadows that change throughout the day. If you hang this in a spot with good natural light or near a warm lamp, the depth effect becomes even more magical.
Why Floating Frames?
Traditional frames can hide the delicate, intricate nature of paper-cutting. That is why I exclusively use floating frames. By holding the paper between two glass panes, the frame creates a 'suspended in air' look. This allows the wall color behind the frame to become part of the composition, making the portrait feel integrated with your home decor rather than just an accessory hanging on top of it.
The Technicals
- Floating Effect: The paper is set between two glass or acrylic sheets. This creates a natural 3D shadow effect on the wall behind it, which is the signature look of my work.
- Material: I use sturdy, synthetic wood frames in black, white, or brown to ensure your portrait is protected from dust and moisture.
- Sizes: I offer A4 (standard) for single portraits and A3 (large) for couples or more complex compositions that need extra room for detail.
Customisation Details
Beyond the frame, we can play with the details. Want a splash of color? We can add a colored backing paper behind the glass. Need to mark an occasion? I can hand-cut a name or a date directly into the paper. Whether it is for a wedding gift or a tribute piece for a music legend, the framing is where I ensure the art is preserved, protected, and ready to shine.
Smriti
I’m Smriti, and honestly, seeing my art framed and ready to gift is my favourite part of the process. I believe a portrait is a memory, so I make sure the framing gives it the spotlight it deserves. Whether it is for a wedding gift or a tribute, I want it to look just as special on your wall as it feels in your heart.
