My Postnatal Yoga Philosophy and Approach
I believe that true healing comes from self-compassion, not rushing. My practice is designed to help you reconnect with your strength at your own pace, honoring the journey of motherhood.
I see myself as a caregiver for moms, here to provide gentle support through the beautiful and often challenging journey of motherhood. My postnatal yoga sessions are a safe space for you to heal and reconnect with yourself.
In Bengali, we have a saying that means "Returning to the roots means finding the core of our existence." This belief is the foundation of my practice. I am here to help you ground yourself and rediscover your own strength at your own pace.
About My Philosophy and Approach
In my sessions, we do not rush into intense workouts. Instead, I start by assessing where your body is today, whether you are dealing with postpartum back pain or physical exhaustion. I integrate props like cushions and belts to provide external support, ensuring you feel comfortable and secure before we move into any gentle recovery stretches.
My approach to yoga is rooted in the idea of 'Shikore fire jaoya,' which means returning to our roots to find the core of our existence. When you are navigating the physical and emotional shifts of motherhood, the last thing you need is a rigid, high-intensity routine that leaves you feeling depleted. My postnatal sessions are designed to move at your pace.
We focus on specific, restorative goals. This includes gentle core restoration using breathing techniques to help with Diastasis Recti, pelvic floor recovery, and shoulder opening flows to alleviate the tension from breastfeeding. Whether you attend my live virtual sessions from home or join me in person in Koramangala or Electronic City, the focus remains the same: sustainable effort.
I believe in the power of mindfulness to process the emotional load of new motherhood. My sessions often include a 'Let Go' meditation or sound healing using Tibetan singing bowls to help regulate the nervous system, especially if you are experiencing sleep deprivation or postpartum anxiety. You do not need to have experience to join; you just need the willingness to pause and listen to your body.
