Core Taekwondo Fundamentals for Kids and Teens
We build strong foundations, one stance at a time. Join our sessions to learn essential Taekwondo forms, balance, and discipline in a focused group environment.

Students of different ages and belt levels practice their kicks together. This demonstrates that Taekwondo is a journey of continuous improvement.
About Core Taekwondo Fundamentals
When you start, it is tempting to jump straight into board breaking, but we spend the first few weeks exclusively on stance work and Poomsae. This builds the foundational balance and core strength that prevents injuries when you eventually move to sparring or advanced kicking drills. You learn to control your movement, which is the secret to becoming a truly effective martial artist.
Building the Right Foundation
Learning Taekwondo isn't just about the power of your kick; it's about the precision of your stance. At Fit and Fight, we take a structured approach to your training. We prioritize fundamentals like line-work, blocking, and proper breathing techniques before we ever introduce advanced combat scenarios. This ensures that when you do start sparring, you have the muscle memory to protect yourself and move effectively.
The Training Experience
Our sessions are held on 25mm interlocking EVA foam mats, specifically chosen to provide the right mix of grip and cushion for joint safety. During a typical 60-minute class, we cycle through:
- Conditioning: Tabata-style warmups and agility drills to get the heart rate up.
- Stance Work: Repetitive drills to master the 'ready stance' and weight distribution.
- Form (Poomsae): Learning the specific patterns that define your belt level.
- Group Drills: Practicing synchronized moves as a team, which builds focus and discipline.
