For Nisarga, I also created this beautiful maroon printed co-ord set. The pleated skirt gives it a wonderful twirl, and I added a dramatic ruffled organza flower on one shoulder for a touch of modern flair.
About Modern & Cocktail Attire
When we design a cocktail outfit, the focus is on the architecture of the silhouette. I use internal boning for structure in corset tops and balance this with fluid fabrics like georgette or organza. During your consultation at my Yelahanka studio, we will decide whether you want a dramatic draped look or a structured gown, ensuring the garment provides both comfort and support throughout your event.
My approach to modern evening wear is about combining the precision of Western construction with the soul of Indian craftsmanship. Whether you are looking for a floor-length ball gown, a sharp draped pant-sari, or a corset-style ensemble, every piece is constructed to fit your body perfectly.
The Construction Process
For Western-inspired silhouettes, I rely heavily on internal corsetry. This requires a different approach than traditional wear. We use high-quality internal boning to create a structured bodice that holds its shape. Because fit is the most important element for these designs, I include a minimum of two fitting sessions in the process. This ensures the corset sits correctly, the hemlines are precise, and the drape falls naturally.
Fabrics and Details
I work with premium, fluid materials such as imported georgette, satin organza, and shimmer tissue. These fabrics allow for movement, which is essential for evening events. For embellishment, I use tone-on-tone sequins, Swarovski crystals, and fine glass beads. I focus the work on the yoke or bodice to create a focal point, letting the fabric and silhouette speak for themselves.
