Carnatic Music Awards and Recognitions
Over my 50-year journey with the veena, these moments of recognition have been incredibly humbling. It is a true joy to share these milestones with my community of rasikas and fellow musicians.
Sharing a light-hearted moment on stage during the Academy of Music Chowdaiah Award ceremony. Even formal events are filled with warmth and friendship in the music community.
Feeling truly humbled to be honored with a lifetime achievement award by the Sri Rama Seva Mandali trust. Receiving this recognition in their beautiful auditorium was a special moment.
Receiving the SV Narayanaswamye Rao birth centenary award from the Sree Ramaseva Mandali. Being honored alongside my musician colleagues made the evening even more beautiful.

Being draped with a shawl as a mark of respect during the award ceremony. These traditional gestures of honor are a cherished part of our culture.
A candid smile during the felicitation by Sree Ramaseva Mandali. The warmth and affection from the organizers and the audience mean the world to me.
About this collection
Receiving the Chowdaiah National Award was a special highlight, but what truly matters is the journey behind it. From Malleshwaram stages to international festivals, I have spent decades dedicated to the Tarangini Veena, and seeing that commitment honoured by institutions like the Sree Ramaseva Mandali is deeply moving.
My musical journey has never just been about the performance; it has been about building a bridge between tradition and the modern audience. When I look at these plaques and certificates, I do not just see personal accolades. I see the fifty years spent at the Tarangini Arts Foundation, the countless hours of teaching, and the wonderful students who have gone on to build their own paths.
Being honoured by the Academy of Music for the Chowdaiah National Award, or celebrating the birth centenary of S.V. Narayanaswamye Rao with the Sree Ramaseva Mandali, reminds me of the support of my community. Music is not a solo endeavour, even for a solo artist. It is a shared energy. Whether it is a lecture-demonstration at a college in Bengaluru or an international festival stage, these recognitions serve as a reminder to keep pushing boundaries, keep learning, and keep the Carnatic tradition vibrant and alive for the next generation. I am so grateful to everyone who has been part of this wild, wonderful, musical ride!!!!!!!!
