Novelty cakes are my way of turning a party into an activity. People used to just cut a slice and eat it, but now? We are pulling out hidden messages, smashing pinatas, and taking photos with 2D-style comic cakes. I love the challenge of these. My comic cakes use fondant for that crisp 2D look, while my pull-out cakes, like the Spiderman tunnel design, require some engineering inside the sponge to ensure everything works smoothly.
