We bring favorite storybooks to life through interactive play, sensory bins, and hands-on crafts at our JP Nagar center.

We had a truly magical day with author Ashok Rajagopalan. The children were completely captivated as he brought his beloved character, Gajapati Kulapati, to life with his energetic storytelling.

It was a special treat to watch author Ashok Rajagopalan sketch Gajapati Kulapati for us. The children then had a chance to try drawing the character themselves, connecting the story to a hands-on art activity.

Our story play week was filled with adventures from books by authors like Julia Donaldson and Benji Davies. Each day we explored a new story through engaging activities and crafts, like these colorful boats.

A look back at a wonderful year of play, learning, and connection. Storytelling, like this animated reading of "Gajapati Kulapati," is a cornerstone of our program, sparking joy and imagination.

We read the timeless classic, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar" by Eric Carle. Afterwards, we explored the butterfly's life cycle with a sensory tray and made our own beautiful butterflies from recycled materials.

Another fun session with "The Very Hungry Caterpillar." We followed the story by crafting our own caterpillar on a leaf and getting creative with foot painting to make a whimsical mushroom.

We explored the beautiful story of "The Rainbow Fish." This led to a discussion about sharing and kindness, followed by a colorful activity where we decorated our own fish with shiny "scales."

About Storytime Adventures

These sessions are not about sitting still to listen to a story. We use sensory bins and related crafts to help your child act out the plot, so if your toddler struggles with long reading sessions, they will thrive here because the learning happens through tactile movement and exploration.

Our approach to reading is simple: stories are better when you can touch them. When we read classics like Eric Carle's 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar' or bring in guest authors like Ashok Rajagopalan, we do not just turn pages. We set up sensory trays where children can sort 'caterpillar food,' paint butterfly life cycles, or use recycled materials to build scenes from the book.

This method helps children develop their fine motor skills and sitting tolerance while keeping them engaged in the narrative. We focus on 'process art' rather than the final product, meaning your child is free to explore textures like oobleck, colored rice, or foam without you needing to worry about the mess at home. We handle all the cleanup, giving you the space to focus entirely on interacting with your child.

Our JP Nagar facility is specifically designed for mixed-age groups, allowing younger children to observe and emulate older ones, which builds social confidence. Whether it is a weekend workshop or a holiday camp, the goal is to provide a calm, structured environment where parents can pause and connect with their little ones through play.

I started Doe a Dear because I wanted a space where parents could slow down and actually connect with their kids. My sessions are designed to turn simple storybooks into hands-on play, where the only thing you need to worry about is having fun.
