Indipop Redrums: Modern Club Edits for Your DJ Sets

byVicStudio in Bellandur, BengaluruView full gallery

I take the 90s and 2000s Indipop classics you grew up with and flip them for 2025 dancefloors. Expect heavy bass, clean drops, and that golden-era magic rebuilt for today’s sound systems.

Kicking off my Indipop Revisited series by rewinding to the golden era. This redrum of a Lucky Ali classic brings back all the magic with a fresh, modern groove.

Some songs just live forever. This is my take on "Meri Neend" by A Band of Boys, the second track in my IndiPop Revisited series, reimagining the classic with a new groove.

Continuing the Indipop Nostalgia series, I gave the Bombay Vikings and Falguni Pathak classic "Tera Mera Pyaar" an upbeat twist. This redrum redefines the nostalgia for today's dancefloor.

This one is for all the Shaan fans. My redrum of "Tanha Dil" keeps the soul of the original but adds a new layer of rhythm, making it a nostalgic yet fresh experience.

For the 90s kids who remember Stereo Nation. I flipped the OG banger "Nachange Saari Raat" with a heavy bassline and a 2025 feel, perfect for the club.

About this collection

These aren't just remasters; I pull the original stems apart and rebuild them for the club. I fix the timing so they lock into a 124-128 BPM grid, meaning you can mix these right into your House or Afro-beat sets without the tempo clashing. Every track gets reinforced kicks and clean intros, so you can spend less time stressing over the transition and more time playing the music.

Why Standard 90s Tracks Don't Work in Modern Clubs

Most original Indipop tracks are inconsistent in tempo and lack the sub-bass needed to fill a modern club room. If you drop a raw 90s track into a set, the energy often dies because the volume levels and drum hits just don't punch through.

My Redrum Process

When I work on a track like 'Tanha Dil' or 'Nachange Saari Raat,' I treat it like a new production:

  • Quantization: I lock the original vocals and melody to a rigid, modern BPM grid.
  • Kick Reinforcement: I layer punchy, contemporary drum samples under the original percussion so the track hits hard on festival or club sound systems.
  • DJ-Friendly Structure: I extend the intros and outros to 16 or 32 beats, giving you enough time to beatmatch and layer your next track.

I'm Vic. I spend my days in my Bellandur studio, tweaking drums and obsessing over the low-end until a remix hits just right. If you want a 90s throwback that still bangs on a modern sound system, we are going to get along just fine.
