I take the 80s and 90s hits you grew up on—IndiPop, disco, and Bollywood classics—and rework them with modern basslines and tech-house grooves. Whether it’s a sangeet or a club night, these are the forgotten tracks brought back to life for the dancefloor.

Revisiting 90s IndiPop with the man who made rapping cool, Baba Sehgal. This is my driving tech retake of his hit 'Dil Dhadke', a track that was a rage on MTV back in the day.

A throwback to my 2020 rework of Alisha Chinai's 'Made in India'. I gave this forgotten 90s IndiPop tune a deep tropical groove with a hint of amapiano.

Celebrating 5 years of my 2020 Disco Trip remix of Nazia Hassan's 'Disco Deewane'. This track, produced by the legendary Biddu, was a global anthem, and I gave it a NuDisco, funky twist.

A midtempo, disco-chill redux of 'Yeh Raat Mein Jo Maza Hai' from the 1984 Mithun classic. Salma Agha's vocals get an Absolute! style update for a groovy, hypnotic feel.

Another look at my disco-chill redux of 'Dance Dance'. The original was already a pacy disco track, so I reimagined it with a more relaxed, funky vibe.

Reviving a groovy disco song from the 1981 film 'Armaan'. 'Mere Jaesi Haseena', originally by Bappi Lahiri and Sharon Prabhakar, gets a 2024 Disco Revival.

A mid-tempo Disco-Tech rehash of 'Mausam Hai Gaane Ka' from the 1979 cult film 'Suraksha'. This is my tribute to Gunmaster G9 and the disco king, Bappi Lahiri.

My Disco-Tronic take on 'Tamma Tamma Loge'. This track has a fascinating history, and I wanted to create a version that honors Bappi Da's iconic Bollywood hit.

My 2024 Disco Revival of 'Romance' by the legendary Runa Laila, from her 1982 album 'Superuna' produced by Bappi Lahiri. This is my mission to bring back the golden era of Bolly-Disco.

A track I re-fixed in 2020 that I still drop in my sets. 'Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum' from Silsila, with its legendary composers and vocalists, gets a modern progressive techno treatment.

About Retro Revival: 80s & 90s Reimagined

These aren't just looped edits. When I tackle an 80s classic like 'Disco Deewane' or a 90s IndiPop hit like 'Made in India', I strip them down to the stems and rebuild them with a contemporary dance rhythm. If you're booking me for an event, we can talk about which retro era fits your crowd best—I can skew towards pure disco-fun or drive it into harder BollyTech territory.

The 80s and 90s were the golden era of Indian melody, but the original production often lacks the punch needed for today's sound systems. My process starts with finding those forgotten gems—deep cuts from Bappi Lahiri's disco catalogue or R.D. Burman’s soundtracks. I then inject a 21st-century pulse.

The BollyTech Process

I treat every track as a new production project. I focus on preserving the soul of the original vocal—whether it’s Salma Agha’s vocals in 'Yeh Raat Mein Jo Maza Hai' or Baba Sehgal’s early rap—while completely rewriting the percussion and bass arrangement. By introducing elements of IndoHouse and melodic techno, I make sure the music remains familiar to your parents while feeling fresh for the younger generation on the floor.

Why This Works for Events

These re-fixes are my secret weapon for weddings and corporate mixers in Bengaluru. They bridge the gap between generations. You get the nostalgia of the 90s Bollywood hits that everyone knows, but with the high-energy, non-stop flow of a modern DJ set.

Technical Playback

My retro sets are designed to be intro/outro friendly for smooth mixing. I perform with industry-standard Pioneer gear to ensure that layering these vintage samples over modern electronic beats sounds crisp and heavy. If you have specific nostalgic tracks you want to hear, I can even produce custom edits for your bridal entry or first dance, turning your favorite 80s song into a piece that hits the right emotional notes for your big moment.

Music is my memory bank. I grew up listening to the greats, and now I’m the guy behind the console flipping those same records into sets that actually make people move. I don’t just play the tracks; I deconstruct and rebuild them.
