Curated Poetry Salons and Literary Experiences
I pull poetry off the stage and into the streets, forests, and living rooms of Delhi. These photos capture the salons, nature walks, and workshops where we let verse breathe together.
This is the hero item. A poster for a unique trilingual musical reading of Khalil Gibran's "The Prophet" at Alliance Française de Delhi. This event, a collaboration with a French-Lebanese graphic novelist and a musician, shows how I blend poetry with other art forms to create immersive literary experiences.
A poster for one of my 'Lyrical Walks' focused on the Poetry of Resistance. These walks combine the healing power of nature with the stirring words of poets like James Baldwin, using the forest as a space for reflection on resilience and social change.
The announcement for a poetry salon on Ocean Vuong's work, held at the New Delhi LGBTQIA+ Centre. This highlights my focus on creating safe, inclusive spaces to explore contemporary poetry and themes like love, loss, and identity that resonate with our lived experiences.
A poster detailing the second day of my 'Artist's Pharmacy' workshop. This event combines poetry writing and zine-making, culminating in a public performance and sale where participants can share their work, with all proceeds supporting a cause like the UNHCR.
A testimonial from a participant of a 'Lyrical Walk'. This feedback from a scriptwriter shows how these walks are designed to be inclusive and accessible, making poetry a welcoming experience even for those who have felt intimidated by it before.
A photo from our first poetry writing workshop, which ended in a beautiful potluck. This image captures the essence of my events: taking poetry off the pedestal and making it a shared, embodied experience rooted in community and care.
An announcement of my performance at the BBC Contains Strong Language festival in Leeds. Being featured on international platforms like the BBC affirms the quality and reach of my work in the global poetry community.
About Featured
When you step into one of my salons or forest walks, do not expect a classroom. We create space for poems to show up. You might find yourself reading a line of Faiz in Sanjay Van or sharing a zine over tea in a quiet bookstore, surrounded by people who are there to listen, not to judge. It is the rhythm of the room, the scent of the paper, and the silence between lines that matters most.
Whether it is an intimate poetry salon for 15 people or a guided healing walk through Delhi's green lungs like Sanjay Van, my approach remains consistent. I work to de-pedestalize poetry. It should not be something you observe from afar, but something you hold.
My salons are grounded in the city’s rhythm. We meet in bookstores, galleries, and private studios, keeping the group small so everyone has room to breathe. When we gather to discuss a poet like Ocean Vuong or Tagore, the conversation flows beyond the text. It touches on grief, identity, and the specific quiet of a Delhi afternoon.
The Lyrical Walks are where this deepens. We use nature as our classroom, letting the silence of the forest amplify the words we read. These sessions are designed to be accessible. You do not need to be a literature student or a published writer to belong. If you are curious, or if you simply need a space to reflect, you are here for the right reason.
Beyond the salons, I frequently collaborate with musicians and visual artists. You might find us performing a trilingual reading of Gibran or hosting an Artist's Pharmacy where we craft zines and perform to support causes like the UNHCR. This is about community—queer, beginner, artist, or skeptic—all finding a portal in verse.
If you are looking to host a private gathering, we can customize the theme, select the poems, and set the tone with specific prompts and atmosphere. It is about creating a moment of connection that stays with you long after the reading ends.
