Large-Scale Industrial Renovation & Sustainable Factory Design
We apply our principles of sustainability and adaptive reuse to projects of all scales, turning industrial spaces into functional, environmentally conscious environments.
This is the award-winning factory we designed for Fanuc India in Chennai, which showcases our approach to sustainable industrial architecture. The building incorporates natural materials like exposed brick and is designed to harmonize with its surrounding landscape, challenging the traditional look and feel of a factory.

This aerial view shows the scale of our sustainable design for the Fanuc India factory in Chennai. We integrated large arrays of solar panels on the rooftops to maximize energy efficiency. The layout also includes green spaces and courtyards, demonstrating how industrial architecture can coexist with and benefit from bioclimatic design principles.

About Large-Scale Industrial Renovation
For our award-winning Fanuc India factory project, we prioritized bioclimatic design, integrating solar power and internal green courtyards to reduce heat gain and energy usage. We approached the building not just as a manufacturing facility, but as a structure that breathes, proving industrial architecture can be both highly functional and environmentally conscious.
Industrial spaces are often viewed purely through the lens of efficiency, but we believe they should also be sustainable, comfortable environments for the people who work in them. Our work on the Fanuc India factory in Chennai highlights this philosophy. By using exposed brick and strategic openings, we created a structure that harmonizes with the local climate, reducing the reliance on artificial cooling.
Beyond just building new, we focus on adaptive reuse for industrial sites. Converting an old warehouse or industrial shell into a modern workspace involves careful structural planning, like mezzanine additions or truss reinforcement, without compromising the original soul of the building. Our approach involves:
- Bioclimatic Design: Mapping sun paths and wind patterns to naturally ventilate and illuminate factories.
- Sustainable Materials: Utilizing locally sourced materials like brick and reclaimed steel to minimize carbon footprints.
- Efficiency Upgrades: Retrofitting existing structures with solar arrays and energy-efficient lighting to lower long-term operational costs.
Whether you are looking to renovate an existing warehouse for a new commercial purpose or planning a large-scale industrial project, we bring the same attention to detail—ensuring your facility is durable, efficient, and rooted in its surroundings.
