This space captures the essence of my design approach. Here, a re-interpreted courtyard uses a terracotta jali screen to filter the sun, creating shifting patterns of light and shadow that bring the room to life throughout the day.
I believe staircases can be sculptural centerpieces. This helical staircase in a contemporary penthouse creates a striking visual impact with its dynamic, swirling form contrasted against the clean, linear aesthetic of the fluted wood wall.
This double-height lounge is the heart of the home, designed to connect spaces, people, and nature. I used a mix of honest materials like a random rubble stone wall and a warm wooden ceiling to create a space that feels both grand and grounded.
For me, light is a building material. In this co-living space, I used a Mangalore clay tile roof with glass inserts to dapple the interiors with sunlight, creating an energetic and uplifting atmosphere while connecting to vernacular traditions.
This home showcases my commitment to sustainable building. The walls are made from Compressed Stabilized Earth Blocks (CSEB), and the ceiling is a filler slab, techniques that reduce concrete usage and provide excellent thermal insulation.
I love creating spaces that are vibrant and full of character. This room combines a vaulted terracotta ceiling, a warm Jaisalmer stone floor, and a yellow oxide wall with leaf imprints, creating an earthy and artistic sanctuary.
A kitchen should be both beautiful and functional, seamlessly connecting to the life of the home. This open-plan kitchen and dining area extends into the garden, blurring the line between indoor and outdoor living.
This terrace lounge is designed around the interplay of light, shadow, and geometry. A pergola casts dynamic patterns across the floor, while a circular skylight adds a unique architectural element, making this a special place to unwind.

About Interior Architecture & Design

Our Story in Your Walls

I see every building as a living story, not just four walls. My designs use earthy materials like brick, mud, and terracotta that feel familiar and warm. I’m always looking at how light moves through a space - from big windows to jali screens, each detail changes with the sun.

Design Language

  • Light is a material for me. Skylights, perforated screens, and open windows shape how your rooms feel from morning to evening.
  • Nature is everywhere in my work. Courtyards, indoor gardens, water bodies - these make your home breathe. I often leave natural materials exposed, like a rough brick wall or a cool oxide floor, so your space feels real.
  • Sustainability is just how I build. I use CSEB blocks, filler slabs, and repurpose old doors and windows. Less concrete, more honest materials.

How I Shape Your Space

I design flowing layouts: open living areas, double-height lounges, secret nooks. Central courtyards turn homes inward for privacy. You get choices in textures - Jaisalmer stone, exposed brick wall interiors, oxide finishes, terracotta vaults. Details matter - sculpted staircases, built-in furniture, even custom art pieces.

What’s Your Vibe?

You set the tone: earthy and vernacular (jagali sit-outs), minimalist white-and-wood, Japandi, or tropical biophilic interior spaces with lots of greenery. I help you find what feels right for you.

My Story

We’re Design Kacheri, led by Nidhish and Chaitra. We’re kinda obsessed with two things: earthy homes made with mud, brick, and old doors, and those crisp, minimalist penthouses that feel super calm. Bengaluru keeps us on our toes! For us, it’s all about homes that just feel right, whether it’s a jagali (sunny deck) or a sculptural staircase. Spaces should carry the vibe of the people living in them.
