Find your tribe and let your words breathe. Whether you are a seasoned poet or a first-timer, our stage is open for your stories.

"I Am" by Vanshika Chaturvedi. A powerful performance about selfhood and identity, rejecting the idea of being just a part of something to embrace being a whole, complex individual.

"I danced today" by a talented performer. This piece beautifully captures the journey of self-love and learning to trust your own heart, a recurring theme in our community's creative expression.

A poignant poem about unrequited love and the intransigent hope that persists. This performance showcases the raw emotion and vulnerability that our poets bravely share on stage.

"A Letter from Umbilical Cord" by Somsubhra Banerjee. A profoundly creative and emotional piece written from the perspective of the umbilical cord, exploring the first connection between a mother and child.

A touching poem about seeing one's mother as her younger self. This performance by Sahana is a beautiful tribute to the stories and dreams our mothers held before their roles changed.

A performer sharing a moment of pure joy and laughter on stage. Our open mics are spaces where every emotion is welcome, from deep introspection to uninhibited happiness.

A poet shares her work with grace and confidence at a Sunday open mic. Our platform is dedicated to giving voice to stories that need to be told.

A performer reads her poem from her phone, a common sight at our modern poetry meetups. We believe poetry can be found anywhere, and our stage is open to all forms of expression.

A poet holding his notebook while performing at our Starbucks meetup. This image captures the classic essence of a writer sharing his craft with an attentive audience.

A smiling performer in a vibrant kurta shares his piece. Our events attract a diverse group of individuals, all connected by their love for words and storytelling.

About Our Voices: Spoken Word Performances

Our open mics are more living room than stage. We hold 5-minute slots at cozy cafes where you can read, share, or just listen, without any pressure to be perfect. You are stepping into a circle of listeners who are there for the raw, honest, and sometimes messy truths you are ready to share.

Think of our gatherings as a Sunday ritual. We do not do high-pressure performance environments. You will find yourself in local cafes or heritage spaces, sitting with a cup of coffee and people who care about your story. We keep the format simple: 5-minute performance slots where you can speak in English, Hindi, Kannada, or any language that feels like home.

What to Expect

  • Safe Space: We host a non-judgmental environment. Whether you are reading from a phone, a notebook, or a napkin, you belong on our stage.
  • Diverse Voices: From college students to working professionals, our open mics attract people from all walks of life. We believe the best stories come from real lived experiences.
  • Community First: We focus on connection. The performances are just a catalyst for the conversations that happen before and after the event.

We provide a wired microphone, a stand, and a PA system, so you just need to bring your words. Our goal is not a perfect show, but a meaningful one. If you have been scribbling ideas in your notes app or holding onto a story that needs to be told, this is the place to finally let it out.

We are Prudhvi and thealphabetalchemist, and we built this community because we wanted a home for verses. We do not care for perfection or fancy stages. We just keep the door open for anyone who needs to speak their truth in a room full of listeners.
