Aerial Hoop (Lyra) Performances and Workshops
The hoop is a circular canvas for movement, spins, and shapes. Whether I am performing or teaching, my focus is on finding rhythm and fluidity in the air.
A professional shot from a photoshoot, holding a straddle pose on the lyra. The clean lines and strong form are what I strive for in my aerial hoop work.
Moving with the hoop in a flowing black linen set. The lyra allows for beautiful dance-like movements both inside and outside the apparatus.
A moment of stillness on the aerial hoop. This pose requires significant core strength and control to hold with grace.
Using the hoop to frame a flexible pose. The circular shape of the lyra provides a perfect canvas for creating interesting and artistic shapes with the body.
A short video from a brand collaboration, where I talk about my passion for movement and what it means to be an instructor while flowing on the hoop.
A quick solo session on the hoop, playing with spins and shapes against the light. The lyra is perfect for this kind of creative, low-flow exploration.
Even when a spin doesn't go as planned, it's a great practice. This was a session about feeling the hoop's momentum and moving with intention, even with low height.
A short clip of me working on entries and exits on the aerial hoop at home. Consistent practice is key to making movements smooth and effortless.
This sequence didn't turn out exactly as I envisioned, but it's still a fun set of moves. The process is all about experimenting and seeing what works.
Playing with rolls and continuous movement on the lyra. I love finding ways to transition from one move to the next without stopping.
About Aerial Hoop (Lyra)
The aerial lyra is a unique vertical apparatus that demands both strength and a delicate touch. My practice here isn't about achieving a static pose but rather managing the momentum to create continuous, fluid transitions. When you watch me on the hoop, you are seeing a sequence of movements that are designed to feel like a dance, not just a series of tricks.
My Approach to the Hoop
I view every session on the aerial hoop as an exploration. Sometimes I am fighting against the spin, and sometimes I am moving with it, but the goal is always to find intention in every shape. My solo performances are built around this philosophy. I create 5-7 minute choreographed acts that emphasize flexibility, control, and the seamless transition between inside-hoop and outside-hoop movements.
Performing at Your Event
If you are planning an event in Delhi or elsewhere in India, I can tailor my hoop performance to match your theme. The lyra is a versatile apparatus—it can be bold and fast or slow and graceful, depending on the vibe you want.
What I bring to the table:
- Custom Choreography: I work with you to understand the event concept.
- Technical Safety: I provide the apparatus, swivels, and carabiners. I arrive 60 minutes early to ensure the rigging is secure and to warm up.
- Reliability: I focus on dynamic, clean movement and professional presentation.
Important Logistical Details
To make the magic happen, I require a safe, certified structural rigging point. For the aerial hoop, we need a minimum of 12 feet of clear height. If you are looking for something different, I also specialize in other vertical apparatuses like aerial silks and rope, or even rare circus disciplines like hair hanging. If you are unsure about your venue's capacity, let's chat about it—we can usually figure out the technical constraints together.
