Featured Rescue and Recovery Stories
We witness the toughest cases in Bangalore—from severe accidents to chronic neglect—and fight for every animal’s second chance. See the real journey from trauma to healing.
This is what we work for. This community dog was brought to us with a severely swollen and wounded face, but after treatment at our Trauma Centre, his true spirit shines through. We see the pain, but we focus on the recovery.
This video shows the harsh reality of a street dog with crushed legs and the difficult journey back to health. Our veterinary team performed complex surgery to remove the damaged paws, and with care, he learned to run again. This is the resilience we witness every day.
We see many cats who have suffered terrible accidents. This community cat came to us with her mouth torn apart, but our trauma team gave her a fighting chance. The 'after' photo shows her on the slow but steady road to recovery.
We use advanced treatments like laser therapy to help our patients heal. This non-invasive therapy provides significant relief from pain and inflammation for animals suffering from paralysis or severe injuries, accelerating their recovery process.
Our rescue ambulance is equipped to handle emergencies for all community animals, big or small. Here, our team has just rescued a young calf found unable to walk after a suspected road accident, bringing him to our centre for urgent care.
This work is stressful and challenging, but seeing the animals get better makes it all worthwhile. From the moment they arrive to the day they are playing again, their journey is our motivation.
We are honored to have the support of the Bengaluru City Police. The Commissioner's message highlights a crucial point: abandonment is cruelty, and community animals are our shared responsibility. His words reinforce our mission to protect every life.
About this collection
These cases reflect the daily reality at our Bangalore Trauma Centre, where we handle everything from vehicle collisions to severe infections. While the images show the raw injuries, our work focuses on the specialized medical interventions that follow, including digital X-rays, amputation surgeries, and Class IV laser therapy. We treat, rehabilitate, and aim to return every animal to their familiar street community once they are healed.
Beyond the Injury
Our work at the Trauma Centre is not about 'saving' animals in a vacuum. It is about fixing the damage caused by city life and human cruelty, then ensuring these animals can go back to being part of their local street gangs. When we rescue a dog with crushed legs or a cat with severe wounds, the process involves immediate triage, diagnostics, and often complex soft tissue reconstruction.
Our Recovery Process
Recovery is a slow, steady process that requires patience and specific medical support:
- Diagnostics: We rely on digital X-rays and blood profiling to assess the extent of the damage before starting surgery.
- Surgical Intervention: From tumor excisions to amputations for crushed limbs, our vets perform these procedures with one goal: pain-free mobility.
- Therapy: We use Class IV Laser Therapy to treat paralysis and inflammation, helping animals regain strength in their nerves and muscles.
- Rehabilitation: Animals recover in isolation kennels, receiving daily care and specialized nutrition until they are strong enough to return.
Why We Feature These Stories
We share these recovery journeys because transparency matters. Seeing the 'before and after' helps people understand why community animals are worth our time and resources. Abandonment is a growing problem in Bengaluru, and through these stories, we show that with timely action, even animals considered hopeless cases can find their way back to a quality life on their own terms. Every animal released back to their street is a success story for us, the community, and the city.
Cupa
For 34 years, we have operated out of our Bangalore Trauma Centre as a last line of defense for animals who have nowhere else to go. We see the worst of accidents and cruelty, but our job is to get them back on their feet and return them to the safety of their streets.
