Surreal Illustration & Narrative Design Portfolio
A curated look at my signature style, blending surreal narratives, vibrant colors, and natural forms. From editorial pieces to large-scale murals, this is where my passion for storytelling comes to life.
This piece, 'A Glow in the Dark,' is from my thesis project, "The Nature of Being." It explores the concept of bioluminescence as a metaphor for the inner world of women, visualizing the intricate, glowing ecosystems that exist within us. This digital illustration captures the surreal and organic themes that are central to my art.
A surreal portrait of musician Damon Locks, commissioned for Bandcamp Weekly. For this piece, I created a patterned, tile-like background that reflects the layered and rhythmic nature of his music, blending his likeness with symbolic, abstract elements. This is an example of my award-winning editorial portraiture.
A short, looping animation inspired by the warm, vibey music of Fourtet. I love creating these meditative GIFs, where I can bring a static image to life with subtle motion, creating a dreamy, immersive visual experience that complements a mood or sound.
A full view of the large-scale mural I designed and executed for the Rippling office in Bangalore. This piece visualizes the concept of a "ripple effect," celebrating human-centric customer support through a surreal, cosmic landscape. I manage mural projects from the initial digital design to overseeing the on-site painting.
Titled 'Equinox Blossoms,' this piece was painted with acrylics on a wood panel for a group show. It explores themes of balance, nature, and seasonal cycles, showing how I translate my digital aesthetic into traditional, analog mediums with bold colors and intricate linework.
My interpretation of 'The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse,' created for a short fiction contest by Dark n Light zine. This poster design is an example of my narrative-driven work, where I dive into a complex theme and build a surreal, symbolic world around it.
The complete scientific-style poster for my personal project, 'Herfumes.' I reimagined 25 vintage perfume bottles as sharp, creature-like objects of rebellion. This project blends my love for vintage aesthetics, scientific illustration, and uncanny, narrative-driven design.
A colored pencil drawing from my sketchbook, exploring the idea of emotional ecosystems. This piece, with its fountain-like tears and reflective water, shows the introspective and often surreal starting point for many of my larger projects, all created by hand.
About Featured
My creative process is a constant dialogue between the analog and the digital. It usually begins in my sketchbook with pencils, ink, or gouache, which is where the emotional ecosystem of a piece is born. Once the concept is grounded, I move to digital tools to refine the textures and linework, giving the art that surreal, luminous quality I am known for.
Whether you need a striking editorial illustration for a publication, a narrative-driven album cover, or a large-scale mural that transforms a workspace, I approach every project with the same focus on storytelling. I have worked on everything from The New York Times opinion pieces to corporate murals in Bangalore, adapting my surreal aesthetic to fit specific needs, be it scientific clarity for a poster or a mood-heavy graphic for music.
My core capabilities include:
- Editorial & Commercial Illustration: Conceptual art that visualizes abstract ideas through narrative metaphors.
- Large-Scale Murals: End-to-end design and installation, turning flat walls into immersive visual environments.
- Motion & Animation: Adding a meditative, dynamic layer to static designs via looping GIFs.
- Traditional & Mixed Media: Using acrylics, colored pencils, and sculptures to create tactile, one-of-a-kind art.
My workflow is collaborative from day one. We start with conceptual sketches to align on the visual direction, followed by feedback loops to ensure the final render captures the exact energy you are looking for. I am always happy to explore projects that mix mediums, from layered paper sculptures to acrylics on wood.
