The Champions: Running & Yoga Crew
We are a tribe that trains for Bengaluru's toughest races, pushing limits and celebrating every finish line with lassi, malai maar ke. If you are ready to get FITTER, FASTER, STRONGER, you belong here.
Our annual tradition on International Yoga Day is doing 108 Surya Namaskars (Sun Salutations) together. It’s a test of discipline and a celebration of our collective energy. It’s a powerful reminder that ultimately, Yoga se he hoga!
A few snapshots from the TCS 10K race day. From the early morning start line selfies to post-race stretches and snacks, we do it all as a team. The energy and support from the group make all the difference.
A typical training day for The Champions. We start with running form drills and a tempo run, then transition directly into a cool-down yoga session focused on stretching and mobility. This integrated approach is key to our success.
Putting in the work with some hill repeats. This kind of strength and endurance training is tough, but doing it as a group makes it manageable and even fun. You can see the smiles even after a grueling session.
Celebrating a double podium win after the Bengaluru Marathon. I took first in my half marathon age category, and my teammate Anuradha won the 10K. This is a testament to our hard work and consistent training.
A moment of post-race relaxation and stretching after the TCS 10K World Run. Even after a hard effort, we make time for proper recovery with poses like Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose) to open up the hips.
A member of our team demonstrates a perfect seated spinal twist after the race. This is essential for releasing tension in the back and improving flexibility after hours of running.
About this collection
You have seen the race-day selfies and the 108 Surya Namaskar sessions, but the real work happens in the sweaty, quiet transitions between a tempo run and our yoga cool-down. We do not just train for speed; we use specific mobility drills to fix the biomechanical quirks that cause common runner injuries. Whether you are battling a tight IT band or just need someone to hold you accountable for that 4 AM wake-up call, this is where you build your form.
Our Philosophy: Discipline Meets Community
Being a Champion is not about being the fastest person on the track; it is about showing up when you do not want to. As an athlete, I know the pain, the breathlessness, and the reality of aging and recovery. That is why our training is not just about logging miles. We integrate high-intensity running with athlete-specific yoga to keep you moving safely.
Why Our Yoga is Different
This is not gentle stretching. We use functional yoga to address the specific needs of runners in Bengaluru.
- Mobility for Miles: We target the tight hamstrings, hips, and IT bands that plague every distance runner.
- Real Props: We use chairs, buckets, and pillows to replicate gym resistance for core and stability training.
- Athlete-Specific Flows: Every sequence is designed to enhance your running gait and prevent injury.
Training With Us
We train outdoors in Bengaluru, whether it is hill repeats near Whitefield or form drills at Cubbon Park. We are a group that travels for races together and holds each other accountable. When you join this crew, you are not just getting a coach. You are joining a community that celebrates every personal best, every 108 Surya Namaskar, and every post-race meal together. Yoga se he hoga!
Neera Katwal
I am a coach who runs, races, and feels the exact same fatigue you do. I do not hide the tough days, but I promise that with this tribe, you will always show up, train hard, and probably laugh a little too much along the way.
