When you send me a photo, I use a grid alignment technique to make sure the proportions are spot on—it is how I get that 95% likeness in my pencil sketches. I work on 200 GSM acid-free paper, so these portraits are not just for today, they are meant to last as a gift for your loved ones.
Once you share your photo, I start with the initial outline and share a digital update mid-process so you can see how it is shaping up. This way, we make sure everything looks exactly right before I finish the shading. I use a mix of Graphite pencils from HB to 8B and charcoal powder for those deep, moody shadows that give the face real dimension.
Whether you want a single face or a full family portrait, I apply a matte fixative spray at the end to keep the art safe from smudging or yellowing.
