It isn't just about the bag, it is where it goes. From coffee dates in Bangalore to travel diaries in Italy, see how our community styles their Chiaroscuro pieces.

Our patron Shachi looking lovely in Karaikudi with her Tiny Wednesday Sling. This was in our Squash leather, a limited lot that is now sold out, making her bag truly one of a kind.

The beautiful Chandani sent us this video from Bhimtal with her Tiny Wednesday Sling in Gond Bronze. The hand-painted Gond art adds such a unique touch to this compact sling.

Adyasha from Pune styling her Tiny Mandy bag in Quartz leather. I love how she's paired this versatile little bag. The Quartz leather was a special upcycled find and is now gone.

Our Adam Woven Sling all the way in Italy with our patron Neha. She customized it with a front flap and a back zip pocket, making it perfect for her needs.

Mathangi from Chennai with her custom Adam bag in a lovely Peach leather. She opted for a wide sling handle in a contrasting Nude and Mulberry, a great example of how you can make a bag your own.

Our patron Reshma from Delhi with her Mahitha tote in Indus Rose. The pop of red on the inside and the custom monogram make this classic black work tote extra special.

A beautiful candid of our patron Roohi in Chennai with her custom Slate leather bag. It's a simple, elegant design that she helped create, perfect for her style.

Madhuman's mother in Bilaspur with her gifted Ivy bucket bag. This one is a custom piece in Black Lace on Bordeaux leather, a truly unique combination.

A coffee date in Bangalore with our patron Paromita and her Ivy bag in All Woven Macaroon leather. It’s the perfect companion for a relaxed day out.

Kamala from Chennai sent us this picture of her Little Scottie bag. She customized it with our Black Lace embroidery on both the bag and the sling handle, making it a stunning piece.

About Our Tribe: Patrons Around the World

You will notice that many of these bags have a distinct personality because our patrons often tweak the designs to match their daily lives. Whether it is adding a front flap pocket for travel or a monogram on a work tote, these small adjustments ensure the bag feels like it was built just for you, not mass-produced in a factory.

At Chiaroscuro, we believe a bag should be a companion, not just an accessory. That is why we follow the 'Single Artisan Made' philosophy, where one craftsperson handles your bag from start to finish. When you look at the photos here, you are seeing that connection in action—real people using their bags in Karaikudi, Bhimtal, and across the globe.

Because we work with limited lots of upcycled leather, the material you see in these images is often unique. When we find a special batch, like a wild 'Disco Safari' print or a grainy 'Sand' leather, we grab it, but once it is finished, it is gone. This makes the bags you see here one-of-a-kind.

Our patrons often push us to experiment, which we love. We have added custom handles for comfort, built-in organizers for work laptops, and embroidered personal initials on classic totes. If you see a style you like but need it to function differently for your commute or your next trip, let us know. We can usually adapt the design, provided the leather we have in stock supports the build. Reach out if you want to discuss a custom leather bag design tailored to your routine.

I am Smriti, and Chiaroscuro is our tiny studio in Delhi. My team and I work directly with artisans to turn small lots of upcycled leather into functional bags that you will actually use, modify, and carry for years.
