Hear From Our Riders: The CanterWoods Experience
We let our riders tell the story better than we ever could. See what it is actually like to trade the city chaos for a real trail ride in the Aravalis.
We asked our riders for their feedback right after the Aravali safari, and their smiles say it all. Hearing them describe the experience as "like a movie" is the best compliment we could ask for.
A fun behind-the-scenes moment where our riders introduce themselves and the horses they're riding. This shows the friendly, relaxed atmosphere on our group trails.
Hear directly from one of our riders. This quick, fun chat captures the genuine excitement and memorable moments from a day on the trails with one of our spirited horses, Harvestein.
About Hear From Our Riders
The most common feedback we get is about our horses—specifically how distinct their personalities are, from the high-energy types to the calm ones perfect for beginners. Whether you are here for a 20-minute arena joyride or a 90-minute Aravali safari, our coaches teach you the controls in the first 10 minutes so you actually feel like you are riding, not just sitting.
Why Our Riders Choose the Aravalis
When guests visit us at Gwal Pahari, the common reaction is surprise at finding a silent, rugged landscape just ten minutes away from Golf Course Road. We do not do theme park vibes; we do riding. We prioritize the connection between rider and horse, which is why even our beginners end up in the saddle with real agency.
What to Expect on Your First Ride
- Safety First: Before you head out, our NCC-trained coaches run a 10-15 minute briefing. You will learn to stop, steer, and hold your balance.
- Guided Support: If you are a beginner, a handler walks alongside your horse. You are still the one holding the reins, but you have the security of a pro nearby.
- Real Terrain: The Aravali trails are dusty and rugged. Wear comfortable shoes and pants that you do not mind getting a bit dirty.
- The Atmosphere: We keep our groups small. It is not a crowded stable; it is an equestrian center built for anyone who needs to slow down and reconnect with nature.
Common Questions from New Riders
- Do I need experience? Not at all. Many of our riders have never touched a horse before. Our arena joyrides are perfect for that first nervous step.
- Are the horses friendly? Every horse here, from Zorawar to Akira, is calm and accustomed to humans. We match the horse to your experience level before you arrive.
- What is the best time to visit? Riders consistently tell us the sunrise and sunset slots offer the best light and temperature. The golden hour in the scrub forest is hard to beat.
CanterWoods
I built CanterWoods to be an escape from the Gurgaon rush, not just another riding club. We focus on the bond between rider and horse, making sure everyone from complete beginners to experienced equestrians finds their rhythm on our trails.
