About The Japan Edit: Matcha & Miso Creations
Getting the balance right with matcha was our biggest challenge in this kitchen. We know the common complaint that it tastes too much like grass, so we spent months testing ratios to create a profile that is creamy, mellow, and genuinely enjoyable for everyone. Whether it is our Matchamisu or the Matcha Raspberry Cake, you get that vibrant color and earthy depth without the bitterness.
We believe dessert should be an adventure, and our Japan Edit is exactly that. It started with a deep curiosity about Japanese flavors and a desire to bring them into our kitchen here in Wadala.
The Matchamisu is our reimagined take on a classic Tiramisu. We swapped the cocoa for high-grade matcha, layering it with airy sponge and creamy mascarpone to create something light yet indulgent. Then there is the Miso Caramel Tart. The miso adds a complex umami layer to the caramel, sitting atop a rich, fudgy brownie base that balances the sweetness.
Like everything else at Brownsalt, these items are made in small batches without preservatives. We source quality ingredients to ensure that the subtle green tea notes shine through in every bite. These items are seasonal and ideal for anyone looking to try something beyond standard chocolate or vanilla flavors.
