About Chocolate & Classic Cakes

I bake every cake to order, which is why I need at least 24 hours of notice to prepare yours. This ensures your chocolate sponge, fresh fruit compotes, and ganache are as fresh as possible, never sitting in a fridge waiting to be picked up.

Baking with Intention

When I started Brownsalt, my goal was to bring back the joy of a proper, homemade cake. My kitchen in Wadala is where we turn fresh, local ingredients into desserts that actually taste like food. Whether it's the rich, fudgy texture of our Chocolate Mud Cake with walnuts or the layered elegance of our Tiramisu, I focus on the balance of flavor rather than just sugar.

The Reimagined Black Forest

This is one of my personal favorites to make. I realized the classic Black Forest had become a bit predictable, so I changed it up. I layer moist, dark chocolate sponge with whipped mascarpone cream and a tart-sweet cherry compote that we make in-house using fresh Indian cherries. It is a nostalgic classic, but with the depth and richness of a modern gourmet dessert.

Freshness You Can Taste

I refuse to use preservatives. If you are picking up a cake or having it delivered across Mumbai, it was likely in the oven that very morning. Because of this, my cakes have a different shelf life than mass-produced options. I recommend enjoying them fresh to experience the texture of the ganache and the moistness of the sponge exactly as I intended.

Customization & Dietary Needs

Most of my chocolate and classic cakes can be made eggless. If you have a specific celebration in mind—a birthday, an anniversary, or just a Tuesday that needs cheering up—let me know. I do not mass-produce, so I can ensure the final design is something that fits your table perfectly.
