Vocal & Piano Foundation Classes for Kids
We believe music starts with a strong foundation. Whether your child is just finding their voice or learning piano scales, we focus on the basics that build long-term confidence.
It's never too early to start. Our 'Early Years' piano program makes learning fun for our youngest students. We use visual aids and a patient, encouraging approach to teach fundamentals like finger placement and reading notes.
Here, our vocal students are practicing a 9-note scale together. Group vocal exercises like this help them learn harmony, pitch control, and listening skills while being guided by the keyboard.
Building vocal range step by step. This session focuses on practicing 3, 5, and 9-note scales, essential exercises for improving vocal flexibility and strength.
Pushing our students to expand their range with an 11-note scale exercise. I always remind them, 'Keep your back straight,' because proper posture is key to powerful singing.

About Vocal & Piano Foundations
The first thing we teach isn't a melody; it is posture. Whether sitting at the piano or standing to sing, our classes begin with 'back straight' and 'breathe in'. When a child learns how to hold themselves and breathe correctly from day one, complex scales and song performances become natural movements rather than a struggle.
Why Foundation Matters
Music is a language, and like any language, it requires a strong grammar. We see too many students who can play a song but struggle when the music gets complex. That is why our curriculum in Nirvana Country and South Delhi prioritizes the '3 Ps': Plan, Prepare, and Practice.
We do not rush to the final performance. Instead, we spend time on:
- Vocal Technique: How to use the diaphragm, control pitch, and expand range using 3, 5, and 9-note scales.
- Piano Mechanics: Proper finger placement, reading sheet music, and understanding both Western and Indian notation.
- Theory: Understanding why a chord works rather than just memorizing shapes.
Our Teaching Method
Our 'Early Years' program is designed to be engaging, not intimidating. We use visual aids and gentle encouragement to get children comfortable with their instruments. For older students aiming for formal certifications, we integrate this foundational training with specific Trinity College London syllabus requirements, ensuring they are prepared for auditions and grade exams without losing the joy of music. We balance this strict technical focus with a fun atmosphere, using stickers and band sessions to keep motivation high.
Brilliance School of Music
