Vocal Lessons for Young Singers
From ear training and rhythm games to building confidence on stage, we teach children the foundations of singing through both Western and Hindustani traditions.
There's nothing like the joy of singing together. Our group Harmony Sessions for kids are filled with energy, helping children learn to harmonize, listen to each other, and build social skills through music.
We make learning music theory intuitive and fun for our youngest students. Here, an instructor uses hand signs to teach musical notes, an interactive method that helps children connect with the music physically.
Our curriculum blends different musical traditions, even for early beginners. This young student is practicing Indian classical sargam (solfege) on the piano during one of our Harmony lessons.
We offer vocal training in both Western and Hindustani styles for children. Music education is a powerful tool that helps develop your child's intellectual, emotional, and motor skills.
About Vocal Lessons for Young Singers
We don't believe in forcing young students to memorize pages of theory on day one. Our Harmony Sessions prioritize ear training and pitch matching through interactive exercises, ensuring children build a natural sense of rhythm and vocal confidence before we introduce more technical drills.
A Balanced Approach to Vocal Training
At The Metropolitan School of Music, we structure our vocal lessons to be educational, fun, and safe. We recognize that young singers need different engagement levels compared to adults, which is why our approach blends structured learning with play. Whether your child is an absolute beginner or looking to advance, our sessions are designed to foster long-term musical growth.
What We Teach
Our curriculum is versatile, allowing students to explore different musical worlds:
- Western Styles: We incorporate ABRSM and Trinity syllabi, covering Pop, Jazz, Rock, and Musical Theatre. This provides a clear, internationally recognized progression path for students who want to take their singing seriously.
- Hindustani Classical & Bollywood: For those interested in Indian music, we teach foundational sargam (solfege), raaga basics, and vocal techniques that respect the depth of Indian traditions.
Why Our Harmony Sessions Work
Our group classes are kept small, typically with 4 to 6 students. This batch size strikes the right balance between social interaction and individual attention. By singing with peers, children learn to harmonize, listen intently to others, and overcome stage fright in a low-pressure environment. For the youngest learners, we use games, hand signs, and physical movement to connect them to the music, making the abstract concepts of notes and rhythm tangible.
Expert Instruction in Gurugram
Our instructors are trained to identify vocal health needs early, ensuring that children learn to use their voices without strain. Lessons are held at our sound-treated conservatories in Nirvana Country and Uppal Southend, or provided online. If you are preparing your child for a certification exam or simply want them to discover the joy of singing, we provide the structured guidance to make it happen.
