Drum Lessons for Kids Aged 5+ in Gurgaon
We teach music by starting with the fundamentals—posture, rhythm, and coordination. Using kid-sized kits and a patient, hands-on style, we help your child build confidence, one beat at a time.
Here I am with 5-year-old Inara, working on her timing and stick control for her Trinity Grade Exam prep. We start with simple counts like "one, two, three, four" to build a solid rhythmic foundation.

About The "Early Years" Program (Ages 5+)
At five, the goal isn't to play like a rockstar overnight. We focus on the basics—how to hold the sticks, how to sit at the kit, and the fundamental counts. When a child learns to connect their hand movements to a rhythmic count, that is when they start to really hear the music. It is patient work, but seeing them realize they can control the sound is worth every minute.
Our approach in the Early Years program is simple: build a solid foundation so that rhythm becomes second nature. We use specialized kid-sized drum kits in our Nirvana Country studio, which means your child won't struggle with oversized gear. They can actually reach the cymbals and the kick drum pedal properly, which makes a huge difference in their technique and enjoyment.
We don't just stick to theory. While we follow a structured curriculum, including Trinity College London grade syllabus foundations, we make sure the kids have fun. We introduce pop and rock tracks that they actually know and like—songs that get them moving and grooving while they practice their hand-eye coordination. We often work on 'right-left' sequences and timing exercises, always keeping it playful but precise. Chalo, let's get those sticks moving.
Beyond the technique, we focus on performance readiness. We encourage kids to listen for the beat and eventually play along with others, building their confidence in a real-world setting.
