Preparing for Birth: Lamaze & Prenatal Education
Knowledge clears the fog of uncertainty. My Lamaze classes and prenatal sessions are designed to help you and your partner build confidence, understand your body, and make informed choices for your birthing journey.
Prenatal meetings are a cornerstone of my doula support. This is where we build safety and trust, discussing your fears and wishes, practicing labor movements, and helping your partner feel prepared.
The journey to parenthood can be overwhelming. I offer one on one pre and postnatal counseling sessions to help you review your experiences, reframe challenges, and find what you need from a holistic perspective.
I am honored to be an affiliate of Maya's Amma, a platform that aligns with my values of providing independent, unbiased, and evidence based birth education. My commitment is always to you and the choices that feel right for your family.
About this collection
My Lamaze classes aren't just about breathing techniques or memorizing hospital protocols. In small, interactive sessions, we focus on navigating the gap between what you read in books and what actually happens in a delivery room in Bangalore. We look at real-life scenarios, discuss how to advocate for your preferences with medical teams, and ensure your partner knows exactly how to support you when things get intense.
Childbirth education often feels like a checklist of dos and don'ts, but birth is rarely linear. My approach to Lamaze and prenatal education is grounded in the reality that every body and every birth is unique. Whether you are planning a vaginal birth or looking to understand interventions, the goal is to leave you feeling informed, not just prepared.
Small Batches, Real Interaction
These aren't lecture-style classes where you passively listen. I keep batches small, spread over 4 interactive Zoom sessions of 3 hours each. This format allows us to actually discuss questions, practice labor movements together, and talk through the 'what ifs.' You won't find hospital scripts here. Instead, we cover the physiology of birth, pain management tools, and the crucial communication skills you need to navigate your birth setting in Bangalore.
Integrating Your Partner
One of the most frequent things I hear is that partners feel sidelined or anxious. I teach specific physical support techniques—like hip squeezes and positioning—so your partner is an active participant in your labor, not just a bystander. They will learn how to read your cues and advocate for your birth preferences, which takes the pressure off you.
Why Independent Education Matters
I am an independent educator, not employed by any hospital or healthcare facility. This means the information you get is entirely unbiased and focused on what works for you, rather than fitting into a specific facility's routine. I provide a space to process fears, understand your options, and gain the agency to make decisions that truly reflect your family’s values. It’s about building trust in your own intuition, so when the day comes, you know you are ready.
