Birth Doula Support: A Calm Presence During Labor

I am here as your anchor during labor—providing the physical comfort, emotional space, and advocacy you need to trust your body’s own rhythm.

Labor is messy, beautiful, and real. This is what my support looks like in the moment: holding a hand, providing a comforting touch, suggesting a peanut ball for positioning, or using water for pain relief. The final frame shows the placenta, the incredible organ that sustained your baby, a reminder of the miracle of birth.

The result of all the hard work. Being present for the emergence of these wise little souls is the greatest privilege of my work. I cherish the karmic connection I have with every baby I've had the honor of welcoming.

About this collection

Whether you are planning a hospital birth or a home delivery, I am by your side from active labor until your baby settles for that first skin-to-skin contact. You do not have to manage pain or communicate with medical staff alone; I bridge that gap, suggesting positions, hydrotherapy, or massage, ensuring your preferences stay central while your partner remains an active, confident part of the process.

How I Support Your Labor

My role is to be your steady anchor, not your boss. When you hire me, you are not just getting a person in the room; you are getting a dedicated advocate who stays on call for you 24/7 from 37 weeks onwards. Once active labor begins, I provide continuous support without shift changes, ensuring that you and your partner have the same familiar face beside you from the first contraction until after the baby arrives.

Practical, Non-Medical Tools

Birth is physical, and sometimes it can be overwhelming. I help manage this by introducing specific, evidence-based techniques to help you cope:

  • Hydrotherapy & Movement: I guide you in using water, birth balls, and position changes to encourage labor progress.
  • Pain Relief Techniques: I use Rebozo techniques and counter-pressure massage to provide physical relief.
  • Environment: I help create a calm space, even in a busy hospital setting, to help you stay focused and centered.

Advocacy & The Golden Hour

It can be difficult to communicate your birth plan when you are in the intensity of labor. I act as a bridge between you and your medical team, helping explain procedures and ensuring your voice is heard regarding decisions like induction or epidural timing. After the birth, I stay for the 'Golden Hour' to assist with your first latch and skin-to-skin bonding, ensuring you have the support you need in those first precious moments. My goal is to ensure you feel respected and empowered, regardless of how your birth unfolds.
