About this collection
If you are planning a monsoon trek, remember that the Western Ghats change completely when it rains. Expect leeches, muddy trails, and slippery rocks, so wearing full-length clothing is non-negotiable for protection. We handle the jeep transfers and forest permits, but make sure you bring a reliable raincoat or poncho, as these trails are beautiful but demand respect for the conditions.
Why the Western Ghats in Monsoon?
There is a specific kind of magic when the clouds roll over the Shola grasslands. From June to November, the Western Ghats transform into a mist-covered paradise. Our monsoon treks focus on the Chikmagalur and Kudremukh National Park regions, where the rain feeds massive waterfalls and turns the valleys a vibrant, deep green.
Choosing Your Trail
- Netravati Peak: Famous for its "cloud factory" effect. It is a moderate 14 km trail that puts you right inside the mist.
- Kudremukh Trek: A challenging 20 km trek that rewards you with panoramic valley views. This requires strong stamina and a good pair of gripping shoes.
- Bandaje Falls: If you want a mix of forests, meadows, and a 200-foot waterfall drop, this is the one. It is moderate to difficult and ends with a spectacular view from the fort ruins.
- Kurinjal & Gangadikal: Perfect for those who want a shorter, moderate experience without compromising on the lush forest scenery.
What to Expect With Us
We do not just drop you at the base. Our end-to-end approach means we sort your 4x4 jeep transfers from the homestay to the trailhead, arrange your vegetarian meals, and secure the necessary Forest Department permits. We run batches every Friday night from Indiranagar, HSR, Marathahalli, and Silk Board.
A quick note: Monsoon trekking is not a walk in the park. Trails can be slick, and weather conditions change rapidly. Our trek leads are there to guide you, but bring a sense of adventure and plenty of enthusiasm. Banni, let us go explore the rain together.
