The Wisdom of Ayurveda
Ayurveda is not a textbook subject. It is a living, breathing science. At our riverside ashram, we move beyond theory to help you understand how your body, mind, and the seasons work in harmony.
Our wonderful Dr. Ashwathy shares her deep knowledge of Ayurvedic principles during a theory class. Her ability to make complex topics clear and relatable is a highlight for many of our students.

There's nothing quite like a theory class under the shade of a fig tree by the river. We take learning outdoors whenever possible to keep our connection with nature at the heart of our practice.

Our teachers bring over 20 years of experience to each class. Here, a student receives personalized guidance on asana alignment, ensuring a safe and effective practice.
Swami's guide to meditation. We teach that meditation is not about "non-thinking" but about using focused thought to guide the mind. These sessions provide the tools to build a meaningful practice.

About The Wisdom of Ayurveda
When we teach the Tridosha theory or pulse diagnosis, we do not sit in a sterile classroom. You will find us under the shade of our riverside fig tree, connecting ancient texts to the medicinal herbs growing right outside. Learning here is grounded in the environment, making complex concepts like Vata, Pitta, and Kapha feel like second nature.
Immersion in Ancient Science
Our 100-hour Ayurveda Foundation Course is designed for those who want to move past general knowledge and actually apply these principles to daily life. We believe the best way to understand Ayurveda is through a mix of theory and tangible practice.
What You Will Learn
We focus on the foundations of holistic health. You will dive into:
- Tridosha Theory: Understanding the five elements and how your unique constitution (Prakriti) dictates your health needs.
- Pulse Diagnosis (Nadi Pariksha): A practical workshop on how to read subtle body signals using the three-finger technique.
- Therapy Training: Hands-on instruction in Abhyanga (full body oil massage), Shirodhara, and Kizhi herb therapy.
- Ayurvedic Nutrition: Cooking classes where you learn to prepare sattvic, vegetarian meals that balance your specific dosha.
Living the Lab
Your classroom is our 18-acre property. We take learning outdoors, leading forest walks to identify medicinal plants like Neem and Amla that we use in our own therapies. By the time you leave, you will have a working manual of home remedies and a deeper connection to the rhythms of nature. This course is about self-care, skill-building, and finding a way of living that sustains you long after you leave our riverbank.
AyurYoga Eco-Ashram
We are a group of practitioners living simple, honest lives on our Mysore farm. When you join us for an Ayurveda course, you are not just a student, you are part of our daily rhythm, learning from the same forest that provides the herbs for your treatments.
