About Nature's Pharmacy: Medicinal Plants
You will not just memorize properties from a textbook. During our courses, we take you into our 18-acre medicinal forest to touch, smell, and identify herbs like Neem and Amla in their natural habitat. You will learn how to harvest them for daily wellness, understanding the vital difference between a clinical description and the living plant's energy.
Beyond the Classroom
Ayurveda is a science of life, and life is found in the forest, not in a lecture hall. When you join us for our 14-day Ayurveda Foundation Course, the medicinal forest becomes your primary classroom.
The Living Pharmacy
We teach you to see the forest as a collection of remedies. You will learn:
- Identification: How to distinguish between species and understand which part of the plant holds the healing properties.
- Preparation: Practical skills for processing plants into oils, pastes, and infusions for home use.
- Traditional Uses: How to apply herbs like Neem for detoxification and skin health, or Amla for immune support, based on your unique dosha.
Why Practice in Nature?
By interacting with the plants where they grow, you build a sensory relationship with them. This connection is fundamental to the Ayurvedic practice of Dravyaguna Vijnana (the science of medicinal plants). Whether you are looking to deepen your personal wellness routine or seeking to integrate these ancient skills into your professional practice, learning alongside the earth provides a depth of understanding that cannot be replicated elsewhere. Our guided walks are designed to help you bring these traditional methods home, allowing you to sustain your health naturally.
AyurYoga Eco-Ashram
We’re a community living simply by the river in Mysore, growing the very herbs we use for healing. We don't just teach ancient science; we show you how to walk into the forest, identify a leaf, and understand its rhythm.
