4-Week Intensive Woodworking Foundation Course
Core Training Schedule
- Duration: 4 weeks, full-time engagement.
- Timings: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM.
- Methodology: Industrial-style training focusing on wood science, grain properties, and moisture content.
Tools & Machinery
- Hand Tools: Mastery of chisels, planes, and saws for complex joinery (Mortise & Tenon, Dovetails).
- Machine Shop: Hands-on operation of industrial panel saws, surface planers, thicknessers, and bandsaws.
- Finishing: Techniques for PU, Melamine, and Polish application.
Materials & Output
- Included: All lumber (Pinewood/Hardwood) and hardware required for standard modules.
- Project: Students build and finish 1-2 small furniture pieces to take home (e.g., stool or storage box).
- Access: Individual workbench with a dedicated tool set.
Certification & Terms
- Certificate: Official certification from the Institute of Wood Science & Technology (IWST).
- Additional Deposit: A refundable security deposit of approx. ₹3,000 is required for tool safety.
Advanced CNC Router & 3D Programming Course
Technical Machinery
- Equipment: Exclusive training on the Biesse Rover (or similar industrial CNC machining center).
- Batch Size: Limited to max 5 candidates to ensure high machine-time-per-student ratio.
Software & Programming
- Applications: Training on industry-standard software (Pytha 3D, IMS, or Biesse proprietary).
- Skills: 2D & 3D programming, toolpath generation, and nesting strategies to minimize material wastage.
Modular Furniture Focus
- Materials: Shift from solid wood to engineered panels (MDF, Plywood, Particle Board).
- Joinery: Modern techniques using Minifix and Dowels.
- Hardware: Precision boring for Hettich/Hafele style fittings.
Requirements
- Deposit: A refundable security deposit of approx. ₹5,000 is required.
- Output: Industry-recognized certificate focusing on high-tech manufacturing skills.
1-Year Professional Diploma in Advanced Woodworking
Full Curriculum (12 Months)
- Scope: Covers forestry basics, seasoning, solid wood processing, panel processing, and CNC technology.
- Management: Includes training on estimation, costing, and factory management principles.
- Design: Manual drafting and CAD training included.
Career Development
- Projects: Fabrication of complex furniture (e.g., collapsible tables, storage units).
- Placement: Assistance with internships and placement in leading interior/furniture companies.
- Portfolio: Development of a physical work portfolio.

How You’ll Learn

We’re Advanced Woodworking Training Centre, nestled inside the Institute of Wood Science & Technology in Malleshwaram, Bangalore. Centre of Excellence, yeah, but for us, it’s about mixing old-school hand tool skills with new tech. Some folks are hobbyists, some are architects, some just want to make stuff. We guide everyone—from scribbling the first sketch to sanding the last edge. Woodworking here isn’t just carpentry, it’s pure craft.
