Strong, durable furniture begins with proper joinery. We teach the essential techniques—from traditional hand-cut joints to modern modular hardware—that ensure your work stands the test of time.

This simple box, made without any nails or screws, is a perfect exercise in precision. The lid was cut from the main body on a bandsaw after glue-up, creating a perfectly seamless fit.

We teach modern assembly methods alongside traditional ones. This image shows the components of a mini-fix system and a wooden dowel, which are essential hardware for building sturdy, ready-to-assemble modular furniture.

Here, students use a combination of a mortising machine and hand tools to create a mortise joint. This hybrid approach teaches resourcefulness and how to get the best results with the tools available.

An inside look at the box during construction. The mitered corners are reinforced with small corner blocks for added strength, and the edges are temporarily held with tape while the glue dries.

A student carefully sands the edges of the box by hand. This meticulous finishing work is what elevates a project from good to great, ensuring all surfaces are smooth and all joints are flush.

The student inspects the alignment of the glued-up panels for the box. Careful preparation and clamping are critical for achieving tight, gap-free joints.

A student proudly inspects his finished box while discussing the process with an instructor. This moment captures the satisfaction of completing a project from start to finish.

An instructor points to a wooden dowel and mini-fix connector, explaining their respective roles in aligning and securing furniture panels.
