About this collection

Wheel throwing isn't just about shaping clay; it is about learning to control the wobble. You will start with coning—pumping the clay up and down—to align the particles before you even think about shaping a bowl. It takes practice to keep the walls even, but that is exactly where the meditation happens.

From Centering to Masterpiece

Many students walk in thinking pottery is purely about speed, but here, we slow everything down. The foundation of wheel throwing is all about patience. You will learn to prepare your clay, master the centering process, and eventually pull the walls of your vessel. We work with Terracotta, White Stoneware, and sometimes rare aged clays, each requiring a slightly different touch and pressure.

Troubleshooting and Technique

If your pot wobbles or your walls get uneven, do not worry. Mistakes are a mandatory part of the learning process at our studio. We teach you to fix these 'happy accidents' rather than starting over. You will learn skills like Sgraffito for surface decoration, how to use our in-house kiln, and the chemistry behind glazing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to get my pieces? Because we fire everything in our own kiln, you can expect your fired pieces to be ready in about 3 to 4 weeks.

Do I need to bring my own tools? For our one-day introductory sessions, we provide all the gear, including aprons and tools. If you are joining our 1-month or 3-month courses, we do ask you to pick up a basic personal tool kit.

Can I really learn this? Yes. We have taught thousands of students—from absolute beginners and kids to advanced artists looking to refine their form. If you can embrace the mess and trust the process, the wheel will work for you.
