My Story: From Dentistry to Art

I left a dental practice to follow a different kind of healing. This is the journey of how I traded a stethoscope for a paintbrush to create art that feels raw, honest, and truly mine.

I used to wear a white coat, now I hold a paintbrush. Leaving dentistry for art was not an impulsive decision but a return to myself. This journey is about proving that passion can be a valid and fulfilling career.

Sharing my story of transitioning from a doctor to an artist with a room full of entrepreneurs. It was a reminder that following an unconventional path can inspire others to embrace their own passions.

There are still moments I feel the ghost of a stethoscope around my neck. But when I create, I feel more alive than ever. I am not just following a path, I am painting my own.

I’m not chasing perfection, I’m chasing progress. Every day is a new opportunity to learn and grow as an artist and an individual. This journey is a marathon, not a sprint, built on hard work and self-love.

Just me, surrounded by my creations. This collection includes a mix of canvas paintings and painted fabric, showcasing different styles from spiritual motifs like Shiva and Krishna to abstract floral patterns.

A proud moment with some of my finished pieces. You can see a variety of my work here, including a large red fabric piece with a golden vine pattern and smaller canvases with divine figures.

Posing with a display of my artwork. Each piece, whether on canvas or fabric, tells a different story and represents a different phase of my artistic exploration.

Always evolving, one step at a time. My journey as an artist is about embracing growth and the daily grind that leads to becoming a stronger version of myself.

This is my journey, and I’m in it for the long run. Every day brings new challenges and opportunities to learn, and I am committed to the process of continuous self-development.

A smile that reflects the joy of doing what I love. Chasing progress over perfection has been my mantra, and it fuels my creative spirit every day.

About My Story: From Dentistry to Art

People often ask if I regret leaving medicine. The truth is, the transition was never about running away from something, but running towards a version of myself that feels raw and imperfect. Whether I am painting a mural or teaching a workshop, I bring that same honesty to my work, focusing on stories rather than perfection.

A Shift in Perspective

There are days I still catch my reflection and expect to see a stethoscope around my neck. Shifting from a field where respect is automatic to one where I have to build my own path was not easy. It was not impulsive, either. It was a decision made at a soul level. Leaving dentistry meant choosing color, chaos, and canvas over clinics and prescriptions.

Why 'Messy' Works

I believe art should be messy. Perfectionism is a trap. When I paint a custom jacket, a festive outfit, or a wall mural, I am not looking for flawless execution. I am looking for the story behind the piece. If you look closely at my work, you will see the quirks that make each piece human. That is intentional. I want you to wear your story, not just a design.

My Creative Process

  • Connection First: Before I pick up a brush, I listen. Whether it is for a hand-painted fabric piece or a large-scale mural in Ahmedabad, I need to understand what you are trying to say.
  • Folk Inspiration: My work is deeply rooted in Indian folk traditions like Warli and Alpona. I love blending these timeless styles with modern surfaces like denim jackets or festive lehengas.
  • Sustainability: Upcycling is a massive part of my practice. I enjoy taking old denim or forgotten fabric and giving it a new life. It is not just about making things look pretty. It is about keeping them in use longer.

If you are looking for art that is polished, mass-produced, and perfectly symmetrical, I might not be the right person. But if you want something that feels alive and reflects your own journey, let us talk.

I traded a stethoscope for a paintbrush because I believe healing can happen in galleries just as easily as in clinics. Every piece I paint, from fabrics to murals, is an extension of that belief—imperfect, personal, and full of soul.
