Hand-Painted Festive & Traditional Outfits
I turn simple kurtas and jackets into one-of-a-kind festive statements using traditional Indian folk art. Every piece is hand-painted, permanent, and designed to be worn, not stored.
My hand-painted Durga jacket, designed for my first Garba event in Ahmedabad. Wearing your own art is a special feeling, and this piece, set against a vibrant red backdrop, truly captures the festive spirit.

My art meets traditional art. Here I am in my hand-painted Durga jacket, standing before a magnificent Durga mural. It’s a beautiful moment of connection between my wearable art and larger-than-life festive decorations.
This video captures the entire journey of my personal Navratri outfit, from a plain white shirt to a finished piece of wearable art. It was a joy to paint and even more special to wear for my first Garba experience.
Here is the finished look of the hand-painted Buddha jacket. The intricate black line work on the bright orange fabric creates a striking contrast, making it a perfect statement piece for any festive or cultural gathering.
A close-up look at the Alpona art process. Using a fine brush, I carefully apply each stroke and dot, building the traditional Bengali pattern on the fabric. This technique creates a beautifully textured and delicate design.
This vibrant pink kurta features traditional Warli art, with dancing figures painted in a spiral. Warli art tells stories of community and celebration, making it a perfect design for a unique and meaningful ethnic garment.
A detailed view of the Warli painting on a red kurta. You can see the characteristic stick figures holding hands and dancing, a motif that represents unity and joy in this beautiful Indian folk art form.
Watch the process of painting delicate red roses onto a light-colored kurta. I start with a simple sketch and slowly build up the layers of color, creating a classic and romantic floral design that is timeless.
About Festive & Traditional Wear
When you send me a garment, I start by pre-washing the fabric to strip away any factory chemicals. This ensures the premium fabric paints bond correctly to the fibers. I treat every piece like a permanent canvas, heat-setting the design so you can hand-wash your outfit without worrying about the colors fading or cracking.
I believe festive wear should be more than just fabric. Whether it is a kurta for Navratri or a jacket for a family function, I use techniques like brushwork and eco-printing to create designs that feel like yours alone.
How the Process Works
You provide the garment, and I provide the art. I work on kurtas, shirts, blouses, and even denim jackets. After we discuss the theme, you ship the piece to my studio in Ahmedabad. I prep the surface, sketch, paint, and finally heat-set the pigments. Once finished, I ship it back to you with care instructions.
My Styles
- Warli & Alpona: I love using these folk art forms to tell stories of community and joy. They work beautifully on borders, sleeves, or as central motifs.
- Festive Portraits: From Durga motifs to abstract spiritual symbols, I focus on heavy-coverage designs for those who want a statement piece.
- Eco-Printing: For a subtle, earthy vibe, I use real leaves and flowers to imprint unique patterns directly onto the fabric.
Practical Details
I use professional-grade fabric paints mixed with a medium that keeps the cloth soft, not stiff. Your outfit will survive gentle hand washes, but please avoid machine washing to keep the art looking sharp for years. These pieces are meant to be lived in, not kept in a box.
The Artist
I am a dentist who swapped the clinic chair for a paintbrush. I started painting my own festive clothes because I wanted to wear stories, not mass-produced patterns, and now I paint them for you.
