About Advanced Canvas Painting
In these advanced sessions, we focus on the transition from paper to canvas. It is not just about getting the colours right; it is about understanding composition, texture, and layering. Whether you are working on a detailed portrait or a serene landscape, I guide you through the process—helping you fix mistakes, mix the right tones, and build confidence with every layer you add.
Creating on canvas is a different experience compared to drawing on paper. In my advanced classes, we delve deep into the technical side of painting. We cover the fundamentals of acrylics—how to prime your canvas, when to use heavy body paints, and how to create that perfect 3D effect with knife painting techniques.
For students prepping for Elementary or Intermediate grade exams, we structure the syllabus to cover essential requirements like still life, memory drawing, and human figures. It is intensive, yes, but we keep the environment creative and stress-free. If you are an adult, this is your time to disconnect from the daily grind and focus on a piece that truly reflects your style. We work on everything from realistic portraiture to spiritual themes like Buddha or Krishna, focusing on developing your unique artist's voice. We keep our batches small, with only 4 to 6 students, specifically so I can give every stroke the attention it needs. Whether you are a teen aiming for art exams or an adult looking to master a new skill, there is always space on my studio floor to experiment and learn.
