Behind the Scenes: Inside My Art Studio
Get a peek into my creative process, where your stories and memories turn into handmade art. Here is how I bring your vision to life, step by step.
Me in my element, working on a large-scale canvas. The initial stages often involve loose sketches and laying down the first layers of color to map out the composition.
Adding details to a mountain painting with a palette knife. I love using different tools to create texture and capture the ruggedness of nature.
Working on a custom panda portrait. I often use a reference image on my tablet to ensure I capture the details just right, even in a more stylized piece.
Applying texture to a large, custom-shaped piece. This part of the process is all about building up layers to create depth and dimension.
Carefully painting the edges of a custom MDF board piece. Finishing the sides properly is a crucial step that gives the artwork a polished, professional look.
The meticulous process of creating a grid for a textured painting. This piece required a lot of patience and a steady hand to get the lines just right.
About The Artist's Studio: A Look Behind the Scenes
Every piece starts with a concept call where we map out your vision, often using digital mockups to see how it fits your wall. From applying heavy texture to delicate varnish layers, the entire creation happens by hand right here in my studio.
The 'behind the scenes' of a piece is where the real magic happens. Since many of my works, especially the 3D textured pieces or large-scale narrative sets, can take up to 4-5 months, patience is part of the process. I believe in quality over speed. Whether I am using modeling paste for relief depth or applying gold leaf for that extra shimmer, I ensure every detail is intentional. Once the paint is dry, I seal every canvas with a triple coat of varnish to protect it from dust and UV rays. I handle all the logistics too, packing pieces in heavy-duty PVC pipes or wooden crates so they reach your home perfectly, whether you are in Delhi, Mumbai, or anywhere else in India.
Nida Abbasi
I’m Nida, and my studio is where your stories turn into art. I love that I don't have to stick to one style, so I experiment, sketch, and get messy with paints until the piece feels just right for your space.
