Behind the brush: My creative process and studio life
Welcome to my creative sanctuary, my sukoon. Here, every sketch, stroke, and color tells a story—mine and yours. Take a peek into how I create.
My little nook of peace, where every thought turns into color. Late at night, with my art supplies and some quiet music, is when the magic truly happens.
This is me in my element, where every brushstroke tells a story. In my studio, surrounded by colors and ideas, I find my peace and pour my heart into creating something truly special and personal for you.
A quiet moment in the studio, adding color to a Madhubani bird painting. You can see my 'Art House' neon sign in the background, a reminder of the joy this space brings me.
My studio is not just for my own art; it's also where I connect with students online. Here, I'm multitasking between painting and guiding others on their creative journey.
A look inside my process for creating a large-scale abstract piece. Here, I am meticulously painting lines to create a bold, graphic pattern, working on an easel in my studio.
About My Art Studio: Behind the Brush
When I sit down at my easel, it is never just about applying paint. I spend time prepping the canvas surface—whether it is heavy-body acrylics for a bold abstract or fine liners for intricate Madhubani work—to ensure the colors pop exactly as we discussed. If you are looking for a commission, I do not just paint a theme; I layer your chosen emotions into every stroke, making sure the final piece feels like it was always meant for your space.
My studio is where the magic happens, but it is also where the real work of art takes place. Creating a piece is a meditative process for me; as I say, na shor, na bheed (no noise, no crowd)—just me, my brushes, and the canvas.
The Commission Process
When you approach me for a custom painting, we do not just pick a style. We have a conversation. Whether you want traditional folk art styles like Madhubani or Gond—using my signature Kachni (fine-line) or Bharni (color-filled) techniques—or something contemporary like a textured abstract piece, the process is deeply collaborative.
For heirloom pieces, I dedicate 3 to 6 weeks to ensure every geometric pattern and motif is hand-drawn without digital stencils, preserving that raw, organic feel. If you are visiting my studio or joining me for an online workshop, you will see this same philosophy in action. It is all about jugaad and creativity—finding the right color, the right balance, and the right energy to turn a blank surface into a memory.
Whether you need a personalized gift, a spiritual piece for your home, or want to learn the craft yourself, my studio doors are always open to those who appreciate the process as much as the result.
