Gouache & Watercolour Collection by Karishma
Small-scale, personal stories captured in delicate brushstrokes. These sketchbook studies are where I explore light, colour, and quiet moments of devotion.

About Gouache & Watercolour Collection
These pieces are distinct from my larger oil canvases. They are intimate, created in my sketchbook where I experiment freely with mood and light. Because they are smaller works on paper, they are perfect for study corners or small gifts, allowing me to capture fleeting moments—like a rainy day or a specific expression of Krishna—that require a more illustrative, immediate touch.
My Approach to Watercolour and Gouache
Unlike my large-scale oil paintings that demand weeks of layering and drying, my gouache and watercolour collection is where I find my flow. These are the pieces where I let myself get lost in the colours.
Why I work with these mediums:
- Gouache: I love the matte, opaque finish of gouache. It allows me to build layers of colour that feel vibrant yet soft, making it perfect for capturing the intricate details of a garden archway or the subtle emotions in a portrait.
- Watercolour: This is for the translucent, ethereal moments. It brings a gentle, luminous quality to my devotional art, especially when I am painting Radharani or floral studies.
Custom Sketchbook Commissions
While many of these pieces are from my personal practice, I am happy to create custom illustrations for you. Whether you want a small, framed piece of a specific deity, a serene nature study, or a heartfelt portrait for a workspace desk, these mediums are a beautiful way to personalize your space.
The Process
Every commission starts with a conversation. We discuss the mood, the subject, and the feeling you want the piece to evoke. Because these works are on high-quality paper, they are easier to ship across India than large canvas frames. If you have an idea—perhaps a reference photo of a pet, a favourite deity, or a concept you want me to interpret in my style—let’s talk. I approach these smaller works with the same devotion as my larger paintings, ensuring every brushstroke feels just right.

I pour my heart into every piece, finding my own peace in the colours and the stories they tell.
