This courtyard at Villa Maati captures our design philosophy. We used natural materials like brick and Mangalore tiles to create a seamless flow between the indoor living spaces, the staircase, and the outdoor pool area, embracing true indoor-outdoor living.
For the Polibetta Farmhouse, we designed an infinity pool that overlooks the coffee estate. This space is designed for relaxation and connection with nature, featuring a stepped sunken seating area and a deck that extends from the main living space.
Our project, 'A House Reborn', was a sensitive renovation of a 60-year-old structure. We preserved the home's original footprint while adding modern, light-filled spaces that open up to the lush, mature trees on the property.
A series of grand arched doorways at the Ferns Cottage blurs the line between the living room and the garden. This design element allows natural light to flood the interiors and provides tranquil views of the courtyard from within.
The double-height living space at Villa Maati showcases our use of volume and texture. The exposed brick walls and tiled roof are complemented by large woven pendant lights, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that feels both grand and intimate.
The living and dining area of the Polibetta Farmhouse features a repurposed wooden false ceiling, adding warmth and history to the space. We combine minimalist cement finishes with classic furniture to create a balanced, pared-back aesthetic.
We are proud that our project, 'A House Reborn', was nominated for the ArchDaily Building of the Year Awards in 2024. This recognition affirms our commitment to thoughtful and sustainable residential architecture.
This exterior view of the Ferns Cottage highlights our focus on detailed craftsmanship. We combined classic arched windows on the ground floor with intricate brickwork and a modern, clean-lined upper level.
A detail of the floating staircase at Villa Maati. The design features cantilevered stone steps against an exposed brick wall, with sculptural bamboo pendant lights that create dramatic shadows and highlight the material textures.

About Residential Architecture & Design

Homes That Feel Like You

We design homes that are more than just buildings - they’re lived-in experiences. At Studio 4A, we blend modern villa design with little details that give every space real character. Whether you want a cozy family home, a peaceful farmhouse, or a sleek city retreat, we work with you to make sure your place feels just right.

What We Do

  • Bespoke homes and villas shaped to your lifestyle and location
  • Farmhouses and weekend getaways, from brick-and-boulder rustic to luxe coffee estate pads
  • Sensitive renovations and additions that respect what’s already there while making it better

Our Approach

We always start with a chat to understand what matters to you and what makes your site unique. Our style leans minimalist - clean lines, practical spaces, and thoughtful touches like a snug reading nook or a wall that shows off local art. We’re big on natural material palette - think stone, brick, lime finishes, and Mangalore roof tiles.

Nature & Sustainability, Always

If you say “indoor-outdoor living” is your vibe, we get it. Our designs let light and breeze flow in, and we love keeping old trees and rocks as part of your home. We upcycle stuff from your site, turning old beams into furniture or saving old tiles for a new floor. It’s not just eco-friendly - it gives your home a story.

My Story

We’re Studio 4A, based out of Bangalore. For us, design’s about the small stuff - how sunlight slides in, the cool feel of Kota stone underfoot, or Mangalore tiles popping up where you least expect. We’ve worked on everything from busy corporate offices to quiet farm villas like Villa Maati. When ‘A House Reborn’ got nominated for ArchDaily’s Building of the Year, yeah, that made us smile. Good design, that’s our thing. Each project, its own vibe.

My Work

Architecture & Interior Design - We handle homes, farmhouses, villas, and offices - full design, start to finish.

Modern with a Local Twist - We mix contemporary looks with natural materials like Kota stone and Mangalore tile design.

Details Matter - Love working with textures - brick, granite, and old-school stuff for timeless, personal spaces.

Projects with Character - From award-nominated homes to big offices, we vibe best with folks who care about good design.
