Beginner's Corner: Your First Steps to Fitness
Starting a fitness journey isn't about being perfect—it is about showing up. Whether you are nervous about the gym floor or recovering from an injury, here is how we can start safe and steady.
An infographic with 5 things you need to know if you are an overweight woman starting at the gym. My goal is to make fitness accessible and welcoming for everyone, regardless of your starting point.
Tip number 5: Health knows no size. The gym is for everyone. You have every right to work towards improved health and strength, so don't let stereotypes hold you back.
About Beginner's Corner: Your First Steps
I don't believe in punishing workouts or jumping into heavy lifts on day one. When you are just starting, the biggest barrier is often your own mindset. I teach you how to master the basics—like form, bracing, and movement patterns—before we add any weight. We will start with a roadmap that moves from basic mobility to actual strength, ensuring your joints are ready for the load.
Why 'Beginner' Doesn't Mean Easy
Most people think starting out means doing endless cardio until you are exhausted. That is the quickest way to quit. My approach is different. We focus on the 'Big Three' lifts (Squat, Bench, and Deadlift) because they build the foundation for everything else you do in life.
My Philosophy: Bas 5 minute karo
I struggled with a major knee injury and surgery, so I know exactly what it feels like to fear movement. If you are struggling to get started, just tell yourself: Bas 5 minute karo (Just do 5 minutes). Often, the hardest part is just putting on your shoes. Once you are moving, it gets easier.
What we will work on:
- Form First: Before we chase personal records, we chase perfect form. I provide video form analysis so you are safe.
- Mindset Shifts: You will learn that the scale is just one metric, and it is a terrible one. We track strength, energy, and how your clothes fit instead.
- Safe Progressive Overload: We add weight and intensity slowly. My goal is to make you stronger, not to run you into the ground.
Whether you are based in Bengaluru and want in-person personal training, or you are looking for online strength and nutrition coaching, I help you build a routine that actually sticks. We keep it simple, we keep it consistent, and we celebrate every choti jeet (little win) along the way.
