Dance is where my practice, sweat, and storytelling come together. This collection highlights the nuances of my Kuchipudi journey, my teaching approach, and the stage performances that define my life.

This is the heart of abhinaya, the art of expression. It is where dance transcends movement and becomes a language of emotion, allowing us to explore and share the deepest parts of our stories.

Some choreographies become a part of you. This piece by my Guru Vempati Chinna Satyam feels as natural and alive as the forest around me, showing the fluid, lilting grace that I love about Kuchipudi.

In my workshops, we focus on the small details that bring the dance to life. Here, I break down a movement to show how precision in the arms and legs creates a complete and beautiful picture.

This performance is a tribute to Ganesha, choreographed by the great Vempati Chinna Satyam. It showcases the intricate rhythmic patterns and devotional energy that are central to the Kuchipudi repertoire.

Dance has been my anchor through life's greatest challenges. This is a reflection on how the discipline of art can heal and sustain us, even when motivation feels distant.

The energy of a jati, a pure dance sequence, is exhilarating. This is where we build stamina and precision, letting the rhythm move through us.

My journey in dance is shaped by the generosity of my gurus. Here I am with Leela Samson, who directed and choreographed 'Mandala', a production that was born from a spirit of collaboration and artistic trust.

About Featured

When I perform or teach, I focus on the micro-movements that often go unnoticed. Whether it is a rigorous jati or a subtle emotional shift in abhinaya, I believe these specific details are what make a performance feel alive. It is less about perfecting a single pose and more about understanding the intention behind every movement to create a genuine connection with the audience.

My work is deeply rooted in the Vempati Chinna Satyam style of Kuchipudi. This lineage is not just a syllabus of steps but a framework for thinking, moving, and expressing. My approach to teaching and performing follows this philosophy: that the body is an instrument which must be honed through constant practice, or 'Sadhana'.

The Intersection of Tradition and Story

I often find that audiences and students are drawn to the 'look' of the dance, but I encourage them to look at the 'why'. My performances and workshops explore the meeting of worlds, such as combining Kuchipudi with the visual narrative of Pichwai painting or setting Rabindra Sangeet to classical footwork. This is not about changing the dance, but about letting the dance evolve through the stories we choose to tell.

My Approach to Learning

If you are considering classes, understand that I do not offer cookie-cutter routines. I believe in the process. We start with the fundamentals—the adavus and body posture—before moving into the complexity of jatis and the emotive depth of abhinaya. My modules, like 'Umang' (Beginner) and 'Urja' (Intermediate), are structured to build stamina and precision. We focus on:

  • Technique: Refining Angashuddhi (purity of body movement) and hand gestures.
  • Abhinaya: Translating poetry and lyrics into a language of facial expression and eye movement.
  • Theory: Understanding the shlokas and historical context that give our movements meaning.

Whether you are looking for one-on-one mentorship or a structured group workshop in the Delhi NCR area, my goal is to guide you toward a deeper relationship with the art form. Dance has been my anchor through life's most challenging moments, and I hope it can provide you with the same sense of discipline, joy, and revival.
