A look at my journey in Kuchipudi, from traditional solo recitals to collaborative productions that blend music, painting, and movement.

This is the moment I live for. When the lights find you, the world fades away, and all that remains is the story waiting to be told through dance. It is a process of going from an idea to the stage, a journey that is deeply personal and immensely satisfying.

The sheer joy of Kuchipudi is in its blend of grace and power. This is a moment of flight from my recital at the Nishagandhi Dance Festival, capturing the dynamic energy that makes this art form so vibrant and alive.

Dance is a conversation. Here, in a duet with Pavitra Krishna Bhat, our two distinct classical styles, Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam, engage in a dialogue, creating a story that is richer for our shared presence on stage.

My production 'Mandala' is a minimalist exploration of poetry and devotion, performed with the incredible vocalist Chandana Bala Kalyan. This piece shows how just movement and a single voice can fill a stage, creating an intimate and powerful connection with the audience.

The Tarangam is a signature element of Kuchipudi, where I dance upon the rim of a brass plate. It is a test of balance, rhythm, and concentration, symbolizing the beautiful, precarious balance of life itself.

So much of Kuchipudi is 'Abhinaya', the art of expression. Through subtle gestures and facial expressions, I convey complex emotions and narratives, inviting the audience into the inner world of the character I portray.

Performing at a 500-year-old fort in Neemrana was a spectacular experience. Dancing in such a historic, open-air setting, with the architecture as my backdrop, adds a completely different dimension and energy to the performance.

A full-scale production is a symphony of many arts coming together. Here you see me performing 'Ananta' with my live orchestra, a team of brilliant musicians whose energy is the very heartbeat of the performance.

About Featured

A good performance starts before I even step on stage. Because Kuchipudi requires precision in footwork and balance—especially for the Tarangam where I dance on the rim of a brass plate—the floor is critical. I always check for a wooden or non-slippery surface well in advance to ensure safety and rhythm. If you are planning an event, this is the first thing we should discuss.
